Course Curriculum Overview

3

The Faculties of my department are quite good. They have pretty enough knowledge to teach us. They also support us in extra curricular activities. There are mentors for each students in our department. If needed we can get help from them regarding academics and college related activities.

Internships Opportunities

2

We have to search for internships by ourselves and get permission from college to go for the internships. And sometimes permission is not granted during college hours. Projects are carried out by final year students for the academics.

Placement Experience

2

The placement here is good for software students. But for mechanical related departments, there aren't much core companies that visit for campus drives. The college promises 100% placements, but if students are not placed they blame it on the students rather than giving proper placement training to students. They arranged a hurried aptitude training for final years just for three days and it's no where useful to the majority of students. I plan to get placed through off-campus as there are no companies that visit college from my domain.

Fees and Financial Aid

I got first graduate scholarship and merit scholarship. My fees including tution fee and hostel was Rs. 95000. It was fine. And Once I changed from hosteller to day scholar, my merit scholarship was cut. I still had to pay the same 90000 as my fees even though I vacated from hostel. They have varying fees amount for the students. They don't have a common fee structure. They put forth promises of scholarship to some students and at last the scholarship is not provided.

Campus Life

2.5

The campus life is good. As the area of the college is not that big, commuting is easy. There are no projector facilities in some classrooms, windows are damaged, floor tiles are broken in some classrooms, switch boards are not proper. The management have to improve their concern towards maintaining the infrastructure. There were a lot of trees. But they were cut off and now the campus is bare without much trees. There are a few clubs such as department clubs, rotaract, student council etc.. But many clubs such as dance clubs and other arts club are not active. The management can focus more on cultural, sports day and all so that the students get to have atleast a few huge feats in a year.

Admission

There are various modes of admission. You can get in through management quota, sports quota and through counselling. I got enrolled through TNEA Counselling. They got my tnea code and enrolled me in themself.

Specific schedule is not followed in college regarding the academic and co curricular activities. Sudden decisions will be taken by the management which is a bit difficult for the students and faculty too. There were times where faculties are fed up of management rules and decisions.

1.) Placement begins from the pre-final year and we are allowed to apply for companies from the final year. 2.) Around 70% of the class gets placed in reputed companies with an average CTC of 4-8 LPA. 3.) Along with core biotech companies, many IT companies are also hiring students at a very decent package. 4.) I plan to pursue a master's after this course.
