Pretty Good Experience

In short for gaining a B.com degree in Visakhapatnam, Gayatri Vidya Parishad is the best college including faculty, academics, co-curriculum activities, traditional events, social events and everything.

I did not take any entrance examination. I opted for this college because Gayatri Vidya Parishad is the only best college for B.com in Visakhapatnam.

Placements and Job opportunities are given you to the companies all over India. the companies that visit our college for Placements are TCS, Wipro, Amazon and many more. There are a lot of good companies too which visit our college. And even the salary package they offer is quite good for a B.com.

Our college first celebrates freshers party for the new students who join the college which is organized by the seniors itself. Then we celebrate every occasion like teachers day, etc. We even have a traditional day where students wear different attires according to their tradition. Finally, at the end of the year, we have farewell which is organized by 2nd-year students given to the final year students.

The fee structure is very cheap compared to other colleges in Visakhapatnam for Bcom. For 2017-2020 batch it was 20,000 rupees. But yearly the fee is increased by 1000 rupees. And for the students who are from cbse 12th are charged one time payment of 800 in the first year for changing it from cbse to state.

Scholarship is available in our college but I say that is a little bit of a headache. After we pay the fees, we have to take a form, fill it and visit MVP campus of our college (10 km from this campus) and make the proceedings. The scholarship also varies depending on the caste system. Like for example, ST caste gets the most amount of scholarship.

The campus life over here is very good. I mean the campus is not that big but everything you need is around the campus itself. its's food, Xerox, etc. And about the gender ratio is almost equal to boys and girls. Maybe 2 or 3 difference but on an average, it's quite equal. And there is no ragging or discrimination between the people. Everyone is together studying together.

Unfortunately, there is no hostel facility over here in this college. But for that, you can find many a couple of hostels both for boys and girls just near the college itself. So there won't be any such kind of problem for hostel facility. And also the travel distance is very near to the college like around 1 or 2min by walk.

It was a quite good experience because the seniors I had were quite helpful. They were always ready to clear our doubts, lend us books and apart from studies they did a lot of help. Even after they leave certain a times they visit back the college. They suggest and give us ideas, plans for better and efficient study. Quite good people is all I can say.

The exam structure is quite interesting have to say. As usual the main exams are semester wise. We have 6 semesters. Before each semester we have 2 mid exams. The first mid exam is a written exam on half the syllabus or so. The second mid exam is an online exam where you get to choose the correct answer type questions.

As soon as I approached the college, they handed me an application form which I had to fill in and with that I had to pay the partial amount of fees for that particular year which was around ?10000 (partial amount). Then I was given a reciept and a confirmation that I've been admitted into the college. It is prettry simple procedure. It completes like within an hour maximum.

The faculty over here is excellent I must say. The way they teach is brilliant. Whenever you have got doubts, they are always there ready to clarify them. The faculty also isn't that strict but the minimum strictness is obviously there which must be in all colleges I say.
