Likes
- College is located in the city. So you don't have to travel miles to get anything.
- College environment is good. Even if it is small, it is full of green trees. The security system is really good
- Food provided in college canteens, vachan and amul parlour is great
Dislikes
- No large auditorium is there in the college. The only auditorium in the campus can accommodate hardly 150 students or less.
- Hostel facility is not provided to everyone. One has to struggle to get good PGs and hostels outside and travel up and down
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose Information Technology course because it suits me interest and have better scope in this generation. Faculty provided is good and they teach well. Mid sem and end sem exams are conducted timely and it's easier to pass the exams because the garding is done relatively.
Internships Opportunities
Since I'm in first year, I don't know much about internships. But as far as I know, many seniors have got decent internships in second year itself. Girl candidates are most benefitted in terms of internships. There are many schemes regarding scholarships and internships for girl candidates.
Placement Experience
From 7th semester students get eligible for campus placements. LinkedIn and many more renowned companies visit the campus. Few students even get PPOs even before graduating for more than 50lpa.highest package from my branch this year till now was 62lpa and average is more than 18lpa
Fees and Financial Aid
General category students get no scholarship or financial income of their family's annual package is a rupee more than 5 lakhs per annum. Special scholarship is also provided to those who belong to schedule castes and tribes and to those whose income is less than 3 lakhs per annum for most of the cases i have seen.
Campus Life
The club and community culture is average in NIT raipur. Library is well maintained. It's small but is okay, does the job. Classrooms are well ventilated and no air conditioners for few classes for scorching summers. Eclectica is the annual cultural fest and is one of the biggest fests of central India. Samar is held every year and it's the annual sports fest .
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility is not upto mark genuinely. Not everyone can get hostels and is based entirely on merit and caste basis. Home state students don't get hostels easily. Mostly they stay in PGs and hostel not of the college. No non veg is provided in girls hostel and food quality is not much good. Hostel fee is overpriced.
Admission
To admit into National Institute of Technology, one has to clear jee main examination. It is a National level examination held in every corner of the country. DASA students are also given chance to study in these colleges. Online application form will be available just few months before the exam and make sure you frequently check the internet for the same. There is reservation for SC, ST, OBC NCL and EWS students. Merit is based on caste reservations. The application fee for me was nearly 800 and varies according to the caste you belong to. To be eligible for the course, one has to clear 12th examination with a minimum of 75 percentage and extra benefits for scheduled castes and tribes. Admission will be done in the college you got in JOSAA or CSAB councellings.
