My college journey

The college management is not bad. Sometimes they create problems but the other time they are very helpful and kind.

I did not give any such entrance exam. My admission was based on my 12th results and a GDPI session. I opted for this college because of its one of the best girls college in Kolkata.

Shri shikshayatan is a college under the Calcutta University. CU has a syllabus more difficult than the other universities. Till 2017 - 18 it had yearly exams which were a little difficult for the students. But it's good because the students do not get much pressure.

Shri shikshayatan has mainly two fests. One management fest namely podium, this is totally organised by the bba department of the college and second is Srijan which is wholly organized by the student Council of Shri Shikshayatan where many colleges come and participate and different celebrities like Siddharth Slathia, Darshan Raval, Arjun Kanungo were invited.

There are scholarships facilities for the students who are too good. And the college has links with different banks who can give loan to the students for getting admission in the college.

There is no question for the gender ratio as Shri Shikshayatan college is for girls. There are different societies for different activities like dance, drama, street play, debate, english etc All these societies take care of who is going to represent the college in the different fests.

The seniors are very friendly and good in nature. There is no ragging here unlike other colleges which harass the freshers. The freshers and seniors together arrange for different events and sometimes chill out in the classes too.

The exam is very chilled out. There are yearly university examinations namely part 1, part 2 and part 3. Apart from that the college has internal examinations two times namely midterms and selections. These exams are conducted to know the ability of the students and how much more the student has to prepare herself for the university examination.

Admission was totally on the basis of 12th results. On the online portal i had to fill up my score to know what courses I'm eligible for. After that i had filled up the admission form with attached scanned documents like passport size image, class 12th marksheet and admit card, class 10 marksheet and admit card and registration cards and submitted it. After a few days slots were given for the GDPI session. We had to go to the college and attend the session. Then the list of students who were selected for the couse were called upon for the admission. And the whole admission process from filling up the form to payment of fees was done by the student itself.

All the faculty from the principal to the clerk are way too good. All of them are helpful. And they are always present for the students whenever needed. The teachers are highly qualified and very knowledgeable. On the college off days the teachers are present for the students if they need them. The teachers give extra classes if the syllabus is not finished. There is always a doubt clearing session after the classes if needed
