Course Curriculum Overview
I'm currently doing B. TECH in BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING. This course is all about medical equipments that are used in various medical fields. For example X-Ray machine, ECG machine, EEG machine etc. but it is not just about machines, anything that can help in living healthy life can be considered a a BIO-MEDICAL device like the new mattresses, acupressure slippers, etc. The course is majorly focused on electronics. And the use of electronic devices in medical field. We all went through the COVID times the machines like oximeter which helped in finding the patients is made by an BIO-MEDICAL engineer. This course just focuses on dealing with real world problems and in a way that a middle-class person could afford the devices. Faculties are very helpful. Here faculties welcomes new ideas related to the field and supports in any way possible. The exams are tough but it should be like that only because we will be dealing with a whole living person and mistakes can't be accepted.
Internships Opportunities
College students have their own startups. Currently 15 active startups and they are doing great. Students wants to work under their seniors for starters. It is compulsory from second year to apply for internships whether it's paid or not. Many students have already preformed well during internship whether it's international internship or national internship.
Placement Experience
In sixth semester person can apply for placements. But even in first semester one if they have enough skills can apply for internships. College provides various intership opportunities. Due to recession placement scenario this year is little bit less but compared to other colleges it's still very high. Average package of CS and IT is around 14-16 LPA. Overall average package this year is around 10-11 LPA. Highest package offered till now is 54 LPA. Major recruiters are Deloitte, Tata , Reliance, Wipro, Adobe, Samsung, etc. I'm currently doing BIO-MEDICAL engineering and it is an interesting course, after graduation I will be focusing on higher studies in Bio medical only.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tution fees increases per year but one can opt for scholarships (government/ private). College also provides loan and financial assistance. But comparatively NIT Raipur is cheaper than other private institutions. There are many active startups and if a person has enough skills they can just apply for internship within the college only.
Campus Life
College majorly focuses on developing overall personality of their students and provides many opportunities where one can show their hidden talents. Almost after Every two months clubs and committees organises there events. Talking about library it contains all kind of books including educational books to philosophical books. It's an easy process to issue a book so just everyone could read it. College have a National Service Scheme committee here and they usually generates funds for the people in need and also works regularly to preserving the environment, forests. Seniors are very helpful and if you are a first year, after joining any clubs or committee you will not feel excluded. Here personality development is prioritised over studies.
