Course Curriculum Overview
I like the course depending on your field of interest. I was very interested in engineering so I pursued btech and I like studying what I am. However the curriculum could be more application-based rather than focusing on theoretical knowledge.
Internships Opportunities
You have to do one internship after second year and one during third year. Campus provides various internship opportunities but for those not getting internships on campus they can always use their skills to grab an opportunity off campus.
Placement Experience
7th semester students are eligible for placements. As I'm a first year student I don't have a deep knowledge about the placements. But the average package offered here is about 12-13 lakhs. Highest offered last year was 55lakh/annum.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees Structure is as follows - If you are a general student with no EWS the institute fee is almost 1.5lakh/year. If your family income is less than 5lakh/year you are eligible for 2/3rd fee remission on the institute fee. And if your family income is less than 1lakh/year it's free. So this structure based on income is very helpful.
Campus Life
The campus life is amazing. Alot of fests annually are held. There are many clubs and committees and each have their own annual flagship events. The largest fests are eclectica which is the cultural fest,Samar which is the sports fest and aavartan which is the tech fest. Eclectica takes place around jan - Feb, Samar around jan,and aavartar around October. many clubs like robotics, motorsports, literature, finance, entrepreneurship cell and many more are there. So overall it's an overwhelming experience.
Admission
You have to clear JEE mains to get admission in any NIT. Then you have to register yourself for JOSAA counseling for getting a seat. You'll get seat according to your preference list. If you have HS quota you can easily land upto mechanical with 95 percentile. The environment here is good. Students are smart and you can build a great circle of learners of your same interest as not just academics they excel in much more. The exams are in semester pattern. A year consists of 2 semesters and in a single semester 2 exams are conducted, a midsem and an endsem. If you study fine you can very easily score good even within short period of time.
