My college experience

College should focus on improving quality of teaching and only then placements will improve. College management is tedious. They are sluggish in their work. They will take you a number of errands to get you even a small work done. Otherwise all is okay.

Students are admitted to the college via JEE mains exam. So did I appear for Jee Mains. I scored 72 marks in 2016. I applied for counselling. I wanted to pursue BE in computer Science and Engineering however RJIT is known for Automobile Branch. The following colleges were in my preference list : 1. MITS, Gwalior ( computer Science) 2. MITS, Gwalior (Information Technology) 3. RJIT, Gwalior ( Computer science) 4. RJIT, Gwalior (Info. Tech) 5. Jabalpur Engineering College (CSE) and some other colleges in the order. The reason why did i want to join mits or rjit was that those colleges are affiliated to Govt organisation specially, RJIT is a Educational Institute of BSF. So I was more excited about RJIT. Secondly, RJIT is known for winning many automobile competitions and they have great labs like Audi lab which and National Knowledge network, which are only here in this college. Other reason was that its closest to my home and i didnt need to migrate to other places. I am happy to take the decision.

Like other colleges affiliated to RGPV, RJIT follows course curriculum of RGPV, Bhopal. Each semester you will have 8 courses. Out of them 5 will be theory subjects(by that i mean you will have to appear for university exam for them) while rest 3 courses will only be practical ( no theory exam ). The first year courses of all branches are the same. The courses change from second year according to the corresponding branches of study. HOW RELEVANT TO RESEARCH AND JOB ? Truly speaking , this is pitty on our education system that the courses taught are 10 years and more old. They talk about old and lame technologies. The courses are not relevant to research and not even for getting job in the top companies except for some fundamental courses like data structures and algorithms. If you are planning to pursue research in any field dont depend on college curriculum rather design your own curriculum and focus on it.

College T&P cell contact the companies for job/internships. Recently some students got internships in some companies through college. Moreover you can apply independently thorough other sources. Yes, I can say college help in getting internship and sometimes provide internships. The stipend for internship can range from 5000 rs to 10000 rs depending upon your qualifications and companies requirement and expectation. Companies like Audi, Tata, Mahindra, hero, Capgemini etc visited in the past. Some companies from gwalior and other nearby regions have offered internships for the students.

Major companies that come to rjit are : cognizant, ibm, wipro, capgemini, tcs, accenture, airtel, and some other small companies. Mechanical and Computer Science Department holds the largest number of placements. Around 90 % of all placements from the college are from these two departments. The placement in Electrical and Electronics department is very low. The highest package that has ever been offered is 7.6 lakh to a Automobile student and average packages range from 2.5 lakh to 5.5 lakh.

1. The Annual Function "ABHIVYANJANA" : its the grand event that takes place every year in rjit campus. its the most awaited event . The cultural groups put all their efforts in creating awesome cultural performances to make this event memorable. 2. The annual sports meet : the institute is having lots of indoor and outdoor sports facilities. Various sports and athletics activities are organized time-to-time. The annual sports meet is organized in the month of February every year. 3. TEAM BUCCANEERS RACING : TEAM BUCCANEERS RACING is a formula student team made up of 25 engineering students at RustamJi Institute of Technology (RJIT) BSF Academy Tekanpur, every year they design and build a single seater race car to enter into the SUPRA SAE Formula Student competition. 4. Benign Beaders : Team BENIGN BEADERS is a group of 25 undergraduate students of Automobile and Mechanical engineering streams of RJIT to prove their mettle in real world of engineering by designing, fabricating and maintaining a single seater off-road vehicle intended to participate in race event of BAJA SAEINDIA and dreaming to make best ATV of the world . 5. Robocon : They are team ROBOLUTION from RJIT, BSF Academy, Tekanpur, Gwalior, M.P., a team of 20 aspiring students who works in Mechanical, Electronic and Electrical, Programming department. They participate in Asia’s biggest International Robotics Competition i.e. ROBOCON. every year.

Fee Structure is okay and a middle class family can afford it. Its around 75000 indian rupees per year. 35k per semester. The fee structure is decided by RGPV bhopal. Its better than private colleges in the region. The other fees are exam fees of around 2k each semester. There are hidden or any other fees you will need to pay. The fee structure and processes are transparent. its all under bsf and you can trust bsf transparency.

As far as i know college only offers scholarships to BSF wards/widow wards/cpo wards students not for MP quota students. Apart from this, all the govt scholarships given to sc/st students are given to eligible students. Loan facility is on your own capacity. If you can avail laon from any bank then thats good for you. college doesnt contribute any help.

Gender Ratio : In cse/it department you can find a ratio of 20 girls over 40 boys in a batch of 60 students but talking about other departments the ratio is very low. you will find 3 or 4 girl in Mechanical department and 8 or 10 girls in Electronics department. Parties and fun : yes , boys hostel often have parties. They call some singers and dancers for shows. But in college only freshers party and farewell parties are seen. Yes some other parties on teachers day like that. but all those in a limit. workshops : The clubs of different department like RJIT Geeks , Fluxus group, Fusion castle, CSI Student branch, Baja Sae, Robocon rjit and some others are very active. They organises workshops now and then. The workshops are most beautiful and we learn a lot from them . labs : there are around 3-7 labs for each department. some of the labs are unique ie they are only here in whole state like Audi lab. Audi lab is established for audi research by Audi group. Another is National Knowledge Network lab which is only in two places in whole country. The most attractive feature of NKN lab is its 24*7 internet service with very high speed. There are some other usual labs for different practical subjects . ethnicity/race/religion : Students from around the country study here. Actually, Being a BSF college, it allows 50 percent reservation to BSF families only so we get to meet students from different different regions of India. students of all religion can be seen here. economic status : all type of students study here. Sons of officers in bsf study together with sons/daughters of tailers. all study harmoniously.

Hostel rooms : Hostel rooms are finest rooms. They have nice marvel floor and awesome walls and building. They are spacious. They have good electricity ,water and other basic facilities. They are cleaned regularly and their surroundings is fantastic as they are located in BSF campus. There is no problem in Girls hostels as they always has vacant seats but boys hostels are filled so its good to apply for hostel facility as soon as possible after admission. In case, you didnt get hostel rooms then you can live in nearby locality of collge ie TCP and Tekanpur. The rent is average 2000 rs and food is 2000 rs and total around 5k you will need to have to live there.

Yes, Seniors are very helpful and intelligent. Like I said, if you are going to depend on your college throughout your degree you will just have a piece of paper in your hand showing your marks in the exams but if you wish to do something great like getting a job in mnc or getting admit abroad then you will have to get in contact with alumni and ask their help to improve yourself. They are very kind.

The exam structure is similar to RGPV. There are two mid semester exams and last end semester exams. Mid sem exams are taken by college management while end sems is University exam taken by rgpv. The level of difficult is very low. The questions are generally repeated from previous years. Students can score over 70 percent just by memorizing the Shivani question banks. There is no pressure of exams. The life can be easy if you just focus on exams and it can be equally tough if you really wish to pursue Engineering deeply in order to be a true engineer.

The admission process is similar to any other govt engineering college in Madhya Pradesh. 1. Apply for Jee mains 2. Appear for it and score well 3. wait for the result 4. apply for dte counselling ( fill the preference list carefully) 5. wait for the allotment of the college and the course 6. if you didnt get your wished college then you can apply for second round of counselling but keep in mind you will have to leave the college of first round. 7. After college allotment go to the college on the date given to you 8. Produce all the documents required to the college counsellor 9. He will give you admission forms and some other formalities you will need to accomplish as told by him 10. fill the first sem admission fee Hurray you are admitted to the college and you are ready to begin your college life.

Faculties are qualified to teach by degree. They have good degree that qualifies them to teach. But not all professors are truly knowledgeable. As an example, I didn't find any mathematics professor meeting my expectation. Some professors of CSE department are truly amazing. While some makes me doubt my decision of admission. Overall, the faculty is okay.
