- Campus is small as compared to other college campus and can contain more food stalls aur venues inside it
- Parking problem is there students have to keep their vehicles far from where they have their classes
- Library should be on for 24hours and not just from 10 in the morning to 5 in the evening with the luxury of issuing books anyday
Course Curriculum Overview
First year course is wide as it covers every subject you have studied in class 12th as well as advancements in those topics. Second year course is also comprehensive as in this year you come under your respective branches and all the basics needed for that branch is being covered. Third year course is shorter as compared to second year but difficulty increases as the complexity also increases Fourth year course is the shortest among all as compared to all other years as projects and placements and internships are being taken care the most.
Internships Opportunities
For Internships many companies came like De-shaw, arcesium, visa, paypal, intuit, texas instruments, dboi,etc They came with stipends around 100000 per month you have to prepare for internships by going through dsa concepts,projects including frontend applications and studying subjects like os,oops,DBMS and cn
Placement Experience
Placement of NIT Raipur is good but due to layoffs, and recessions it was a dry season in 2023 as many companies didn't come, and hence recruitment was less than expected. The average package for my branch i.e. IT is 2000000 and the median salary in 2023 was 1400000 per annum. Companies like hyper verge, ziess, arcesium, de-shaw, adobe, amazon, dboi, visa, Paypal, oracle, Microsoft, Brane Enterprises, zscalar came through off-campus and on-campus opportunities and hired candidates with decent packages. 90% of students of every branch are getting placed whereas the rest goes for higher studies.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees structure is available on the nitrr site you can check on it the fees for general candidates with parents annual income greater than 5lakhs is approxiamately around 6lakhs for 4 years if you are an ews in general the fees goes down drastically for you but you have to provide a valid certificate for that in case of sc ,st it is 8000 per year only all kind of scholarships can be applied in NIT Raipur
Campus Life
Social life is good in NIT Raipur Your connections can make your life very easy Events takes place regularly every year Clubs like E-Cell,Shaurya and PMRC have big commitees for the clgs Events like shruti,eclectika,avinya,samar and many more takes place every year Dj nights,garba night and many events including stand up comedies takes place frequently You can fill forms of the clubs and commitees you are interested in and get shortlisted in them and can mention those roles in your resume under the category of POSITION OF RESPONSIBILITY.
Admission
For admission you have to go through JEE Mains exam. In that exam if you score above 90 percentile you can get a branch in NIT Raipur(lower branches like Biomed,Biotech, Mining). If you want core branches like Mechanical, Electrical, civil, metallurgy 95percentile will work . If you want branches like ECE,IT,CSE you have to score more than 97 percentile. Application form for jee mains releases every year around the month of dec,jan in nta website Reservations for SC,ST,OBC's and girls quota are available. Also pwd quota and dasa quota are also available. Fees concessions are being provided to those with valid caste certificate like General EWS,etc. Generally a semester is of 6 months but after covid due to late commencement of one batch now the semester duration is reduced to 4 months where 1 month the teaching takes place and 2 month ends with a mid-semester exam followed by practicals. Then 3rd month again teaching goes on till 4th month followed by end sem exams and practicals.
