Remarks

College management is not so good. I personally never even had a bad or even not a very good experience with the management as your teachers are always there to guard us in front.

Entrance Preview

For admission is courses like B.Sc., B.com, BBA and BCA there is a centralised councelling of all Chandigarh which is particularly based on your percentage of Boards of class 12th and for other PG courses and B.A. admission is from college only and that too on basis of result of 12th.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The college is basically affiliated from Panjab University and the course curriculum is set by the University itself. I have Biotechnology elective and yes course is according to the needed of the current trends which can be used in future. Except for some subjects like organic chemistry unless you are interested to do P.HD in that. There are various other elective subjects like industrial microbiology, industrial chemistry, biotechnology, biochemistry.

Internships Opportunities

No, the college doesn't provide any internships especially to us who are having B.Sc. general or with some elective subjects. Yes internships are available to the students of his students. But not to the general students. But many seminars and workshops are organized throughout the year but even for attending it you need to be very much award of all the departments so most of the time after a workshop or seminar you get to know that it was held.

Placement Experience

1

In the previous academic session, the following companies visited the college for placements: Airtel Bharti, Hewitt, HSBC, Dell, Cipla, Bank of America, Wipro, NIIT, IBS India, HDFC Sales and many more. This is what our college claims to be but when it comes to science students there is hardly any PPO or job opportunities.

College Events

4.5

In the month of February, One whole week is given to college cultural event which includes different fests which are organised department wise including Panache, Biorhythm, Vivacity, Phoenix and ending with Virasat which is organised by student council and college authorities in which generally A famous Punjabi singer comes. Except these there is sports meet, freshers, farewell, lohri celebration etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is a government aided college in which the fees is equal to the government colleges. Last year for B.Sc. it was 24,000 which is the annual fees. Along with this in month of September and February examination fees for University examination is submitted which is 500 INR per subject.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, there are many scholarships available for meritorious and financially weak students who are helped through these scholarships and concessions which amount to a tune of Rs. 20,00,000/-. The book bank initiative, started by the college, aims at providing help to the deserving candidates. Scholarships are given to the top 10 position holders in the Panjab University annual examination system. An application to the Principal at the time of admission is necessary if a student wants to be considered for the concessions. The institution with the assistance of Chandigarh Administration to provides half (tuition) fee concession to the students in case two children (brothers/sisters) of same parents are enrolled simultaneously in the college.

Campus Life

3.5

Gender ratio is quite good in college you will see both females and males in equal no. Every year along with all other colleges of Chandigarh different student parties compete and a student council is formed in start of every academic session. The best part is there is no Ragging in the college. Also there is no violence or any misbehavior in the college.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

I am basically not from Chandigarh but I would review it what I have heard from my friends. Basically it have 3 sharing and 4 sharing rooms. It just have fans, tubes, bed and almirahs. Along with it there is different rooms like study room, mess, T.V. room and Gym too. The food is okay, not good.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are great and helpful. Our alumni include people like Price Narula and Sunil Grover and many others. Senior students are kind and generous and mostly ready to help always. There is no misbehavior ever by the seniors.

Exam Structure

There are basically two mid semester examination held in first week of October and March which is organised by college that is just a conditional test which decide your eligibility if you can give University exams or not which is held in month of December and May which is organised by Panjab University itself.

Admission

I filled the form right after my 12th result was announced on ggdsd.ac.in. At that time centralized admission didn't take place for B.Sc. students so I have gone for a councelling in college itself. It was not much hassle just according to percentage different dates were assigned and on that day after checking our documents on basis of first cum basis admission was given.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty is great. Something which you won't find in any other college of Chandigarh. There dedication level is upto the mark. They would be constantly guiding and helping you solve your future problems too. Each department consists both of Permanent and Temporary teachers. All the teachers are either P.hD. or NET cleared.

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Flexibility of course and type it has to be done . For further academic pursuits definitely yes but for real world application as of now except computer application there is no real world application of this as of physics it is more derivation type topic is covered in the first semester as of now. I course should be designed to prepare for real world application not the old school craming and derivation type. Exam happen twice a year in april and in novembor-december and of moderate level

Course Curriculum Overview:

Being a Science student , I loved my curriculum as it provides application parts with laboratories . I choose this course as I always wanted to learn more about science and its various fields. For me overall curriculum is good and have moderate level but I would suggest to reduce the syllabus little bit so that most of the students can learn whole syllabus Exams are being conducted regularly as per the University guidelines.
