Course Curriculum Overview
Our faculty is great & the syllabus is up to date. One just need to be attentive to make most out of their course. I can say if someone wants to pursue research based studies or join the field of administration BESC can help you kickstart your career in that direction. The curriculum holistically focuses on International Relations, Political Thought both western & Indian. Some of our professors are renowned speakers in many global conventions & prominent in their respective area. One can gain fruitful insight of the political arena, majority of the students opt for their further education in the same subject or prepare for civil services as our curriculum covers a lot in depth.
Internships Opportunities
For instance, TCS offers internship opportuinities on finance, marketing from stipend of 10-20 thousand. These internship experiment are recognised in other comapnies as well & you can get a good package. The work is not too time consuming it also allows you to study for your semester & timings are flexible if not it is arranged according to your college schedule.
Placement Experience
Many MNCs mass hire students, companies like TCS, Accenture, British Telecomm etc. The rate of employibilty is more for BCom & MBA students however it doesnt mean students from other departments dont get placed. We have learn skills for the field we are applying for, the companies dont entirely focus on our grades, we are evaluated on our verbal & thinking skills, our prsonality & eagerness to learn from them. The starting package for beginners can start from 2.5 LPA & for MBA candidates it can be 5LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
One can be entitled to scholarships depending on their marks or their background. BESC is not completely a private college, it is a semi govt aided institution. With the amenities that BESC offers I'd say its pretty reasonable on the fees charges. I have seem couple of my classmates benefitting from the financial aid, I'm not entirely aware of the exact amount but it can either be full or half of your tuition fee. BESC hosts companies for employment opportunities, renowned comapnies like TCS, Accenture, British Telecomm hire students for both internsghips or full time jobs.
Campus Life
BESC is popularly known for its corporate looking building filled with amenities such as a vegetarian canteen, a sports arena, library with massive selection of books. BESC promotes celebration of all festivities, their are Garba nights, Saraswati Puja, Christmas. Our fest that is Umang has been hosted my many celebs & artists, such as Hrithik Roshan, Varun Dhawan, Armaan Malik. Many celebritys visit our college for promoting their movies. We do inter college debates, their are various inhouse social groups which are highly impactful. We have our own TED talk show.
Admission
I didn't have to take any entrance test. I got through on a merit rank, the application process was user friendly & not complex compared to applying for govt. college portals. My college is affiliated to University of Calcutta & our exams are structured as per the university regulations. Yes, CU is tough as per my experience, attendence also plays a crucial role in our college, there are monthly parent-teacher meetings. Our college also encourage extra curricular. The eligibilty is atleast 70% in boards, I,m not sure about it.
