What Students Say
Likes
- The professors are really qualified from esteemed institutions, therefore have such knowledge about the course which is really helpful for the students. And also they're very cooperative with clearing doubts.
- Our campus is a green campus with trees & flowers all around. With over 10 lakhs trees in the campus, it makes it very refreshing to live here.
- The campus life is fun with no. of events taking place one after the other. Students have the opportunity for their personality development and skill learning.
Dislikes
- There is a restriction of entry time for students, especially girls but that too is in accordance with the safety concern of the students.
- The administration system is sometimes slow. If a problem arise with admission, registration etc. it takes some to resolve the issue.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum we can say is related to ICAR syllabus but there are somethings that we are taught which are not in the ICAR syllabus although I would say that there is no such lag between the system. The faculty members are very excellent doing their job accredited through ICAR most of them are researches and completed their education from highly dignited universities.
Internships Opportunities
The university is focusing much on the internship area now as we had an internship mela organized by NAHEP last semester where companies from local and cities like Delhi, Gurugram, Ahmedabad etc. (Dhanuka, Mahindra, Paras Dairy, Aanchal) came in. The roles offered were to provide a practical approach to the things learned in college and provide an experience of the corporate sector. Stipends upto 30k per month were also provided by some companies.
Placement Experience
The students become eligible for placements after the 7th semester in case of B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture. Companies like TATA, IFFCO, Zebronics, Mahindra, Nestle, Britannia, Dhanuka and other fertiliser, pesticide, food processing companies. The highest package may go up to 15 lpa and the average package is around 6 lpa. The percentage of students getting placements are around 60%, the other students have a prominent scope in private sector and also have the capability to clear government exams.
Fees and Financial Aid
The total fee of a semester varies around Rs-40000 to 50000 which includes tuition fee, internet fee, gym fee, sanitation fee, library fee, room rent, electric fee, mess fee. The fee usually remains similar and many various scholarships are provided like AAPRATNA, ICAR scholarship, Deen Dayal Bandhopadhyay scholarship which cover major part of the tuition fee. The complete fee of the course would be around Rs 4 lakh. I haven't taken any campus employment opportunity yet.
Campus Life
There are a plenty of Psych dharohar by SPIC MACY and Agriculture Night Adamya and navarambh, razmataz and colloseum. Most of the classrooms are provided by Digital projector boards and the libraries are fully equipped with all sorts of books and ebooks which can be rented for the semester. Many extra curricular activities take place in the university like there are University cultural team, University team the student and social groups likeS PIC MACAY Pantnagar chapter and Razmataz. There is a fully equipped gym and stadium where students can focus on their physical fitness and many sports events are conducted regulary for both boys & girls.
Hostel Facilities
The rooms are fine with beds, study table, chair, cupboards and racks. There are no AC rooms but we don't feel such need for it. The mess food is good having sald, sweets and a diet with many appetizing combinations. The registration process is simple and affordable with total no. of hostels being 26. If you want to rent a room or PG, it is not that easy as there are no such facilities available in the campus itself. You might have to look in areas like Shantipuri, Jawahar Nagar etc.
Admission
The admission process starts with the notification of entrance exam. The entrance exam consists of basic level questions on Physics, Chemistry, Biology & mental ability. The exam is of moderate difficulty for those who've prepared for NEET or ICAR UG entrance exam. The cut-off scores generally vary as- you can get B.VSc & AH (Bachelors in veterinary sciences and animal husbandry) within top 110 rank. Then the rank holders are provided B.Sc. (Hons.) Ag. and other degree programs like BSc Honours fisheries and BTech biotechnology but I didn't like the process as there was very much requirement to go to the university itself it was quite hectic.
