Course Curriculum Overview
Regarding course curriculum, it's comprehensive, the syllabus is wide but follows the old style in some subjects while physical applications are what I would say minimal. The curriculum is good for further academic pursuit but falls behind on practical uses.
Internships Opportunities
Internships conditions are really bad here. as they have 75% attendance criteria, if you got an internship by yourself by reaching out the companies or they select you, good luck convincing the management for attendance relief. You'll get an internship in third year but in second year, chances are pretty low.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placement from 7th semester. Companies that visit us include Infosys, HCL, Accenture, Tech Mahindra and others. amazon used to come but they have blacklisted us for 3 years. In CSE branches, the placement is 85%. Average package is around 5,00,000 LPA. for other branches, this number can be low. students brag good placements but most of them are off campus. the 1.13 Cr placement was off campus too. I too plan to get into a technical society, improving my skills and get placed off campus.
Fees and Financial Aid
For first year, its 141856 including tution fee, book bank, registration fee, medical fee, caution money (15000, refundable) and one time activity fee(you dont have to pay these 10000 in next three years). you have to pay 7500 to the UNI (as for now its affiliated with AKTU),and 700 as digital library fee extra. Now hostels, for boys, two seater costs 120000 and three seater costs 110000 with additional 10000 as security fee for both. for girls, only triple seater is available with same cost as boys triple seater. There is no change in tution fee along all four years in your respective courses. Just you get relief from the additional fee in sophomore and final years. You can apply for the state or national scholarships, if you satisfy the eligibility criteria, you'll most probably get it. No scholarships for directly admitted General Students. Only those general students who are admitted through counselling can get scholarships. it changes every year from around 48000 to 60000
Campus Life
Campus life, well its definitely not boring, just no fests so far. Well, there is news roaming around that they might organise some. You'll enjoy your life here if you are a sportperson. Sports is really respected here, and you'll get opportunities to go to different states and colleges as part of college team. There are differents communities for domains like singing, dancing, acting/ drama, photography, oratory, poetry. These communities make sure that the events are full of enjoyment. Library is pretty good , they definitely have a good collection. As for the classrooms we have both traditional and smart boards, and seats are good too.
Hostel Facilities
I live in the two seater one. * You get the best hostel in the campus for boys aka BH3 * The rooms are decent, just no plaster on walls ( you'll see this theme in the whole campus) * Washrooms are clean, and they have sensor controlled lights. * Food is decent, they excel at a few, they completely destroy some dishes and most are average in taste. * Proper Wardrobes for storage. * You get LAN which is decently good (dont expect much) but WiFi sucks. I dont know if they plant a jammer at night. But cellular networks is preety bad at night in lower floors. * You dont get a washing machine and the washerman charges are high here, so i'll recommend wash your own. * No electrical appliances are allowed except coolers in summer and you have to pay a monthly charge (around 900) for that too. * 2 hours of warm water for bathing in winters. *You must be in hostel premise by 9:00 p.m * well, the descipline is tight, but I've heard girls say that it feels safer because of regulations.
Admission
You can take admission through the UPTAC counselling, which considers JEE MAINS scores. You can check the cutoffs on various sites. Or like me,you can take direct admission.Direct admission is taken on 15% of the seats. It depends on your PCM score in 12th boards. If you come in early stages of admission period, you might get the CSE core at 95% pcm aggregrate or more. You can get the branches like CSE DS,CSE AIML,CS IT or IT above 90%.If you scored a rank among the state toppers or national toppers in boards, that also helps (a lot). You can get the admission form on the college site or by visiting the campus,so is the info regarding fees and application dates. Sports quota also helps as i have met people who came through it,i dont know much about it though. Well, a lot depends on the "first come first serve" as cutoff sometimes increase for direct admission as the the process continues.
