Course Curriculum Overview
I'm in my first year so all the courses are the basic and same to all the branches of B.tech. the curriculum is includes practical as well which pretty much helps understand the real life application of the knowledge provided in textbook. Most of the faculties are amazing, like they will make you fall in love with and understand the most complicated and boring subject. While there are also some teachers who can make the most easy and interesting subject to be like boring. And overall I like this college's faculties. Exams are said to be done like every month but the intensity of syllabus is not that high so it's manageable.
Internships Opportunities
Intership opportunities are provided by college in 5th or 6th semesters. Company visits are also provided to selected students and travel cost are provided by the college (not selected students can also go but at their own travel cost).
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for placements from 7th semester. Intership opportunities are provided starting from 5th or 6th semester. Many well known companies like Google, Amazon, Walmart, Adobe, Microsoft are recruiters. The placement is pretty good with 90+ Percent of students getting placements with an average of around 5.3 lakh per annum package and a highest of 1.13 crore per annum package (2022 data).
Fees and Financial Aid
The total fee of my first year is 1,41,856.00Rs. this amount includes all cost like tuition fees, books fees, etc. the books are provided by the college which I think is pretty good. Scholarships are available for students who meets specific requirements regarding family per capita income, caste, etc.
Campus Life
The campus life here at akgec is very nice. In the first semester they focus more on helping students adapt to college life and recruitment for cultural societies starts from 2nd semester and that for technical societies from 3rd semester. The college puts more emphasis on discipline which makes this college unique and better from the rest. The libraries are well equipped with all relevant books and the process of issuing them is pretty simple too. Students can be a part of sports committee from the starting of college. Most seniors are very nice and no serious ragging incidents. A disciplinary committee of seniors is set to help new students familiarise and to help them at the very beginning of college.
Admission
The overall admission process was very simple. There was an admin block set up where all the procedure like getting and filling up admission form, deciding my course on the basis of my entrance exam, fee submission were done. Their entrance exam had a total of three sections - mathematics, physics and chemistry and the topics were all taken from 11th and 12th cbse syllabus and were pretty easy. After the entrance exam we gave interview to first year proctor (Kapoor sir) and he decided based on the interview, our course choice and exam marks which course we will be assigned to. Later we had the final interview with director general of akgec and he basically asked some basic interview questions and approved the application. All the later stages were just submitting the documents and waiting for further notice.
Interview Experience
The first stage when going for direct admission was a computer based MCQ test having three sections - mathematics, physics and chemistry, each having most basic and important syllabus from 11th and 12th cbse syllabus. The results were made available immediately and an interview with deam first year was conducted in which he asked questions like introduce yourself, what are your hobbies, etc and then considering my marks, interview and my course choices he provided me with a course. Then the last part was the interview with director general of akgec, he again asked basic interview questions like tell me about yourself, why did you choose this course etc. They were all nice to be honest. There were no group discussions.
