Uiet Panjab University Review

Campus wise college is really good, placements can be improved for core branches and not much companies come to recruit students of core branches.

I wanted to stay in chandigarh, there are many engineering colleges here but uiet Panjab University was the best i could have got. PEC is best college in chandigarh but because of less marks in JEE Uiet was my best option. This is the reason i opted for uiet over others.

Uiet offers many courses. With BE and ME degrees UIET also offers integrated 5 years mba + BE degree. Every course has semester system with exams and assignments taking place as per the academic calendar. Different course have different requirements with students of BE required to have atleast 3 vocations trainings with 1 minor project.

Yes, college provide internship in some fields like 3d printing labs and many more. Stipend can vary from 2000 to 5000 per month.

Every year many placement companies come and recruit students. Students have a lot of job opportunities. Jobs usually come in non core branches with core branches getting less jobs as not much companies come to recruit students belonging to core companies.

Many events are celebrated every year in the college. Be it be technical events BAJA, EFFI CARS, EFFI CYCLE or be it be some fun events where singers are called to entertain the students. Beside this many festivals are celebrated by students in the campus itself.

Fee structure is not so expensive. A student has to pay around 70-80000 per year as part of tuition fee. Beside this many scholarships are available for students who are from SC/ST, OBC students pay around 10000 per year as part of their fee structure.

Many scholarships are enrolled by the college each year in order to help students who are not very healthy economically.

Campus life is best thing in Panjab University. The University has a very good and large campus with excellent sports facilty. Every year many tournaments are organised in the campus. Many technical events are also organised in the college. Different departments have different research labs.

There are 8 boys hostel and around 6 girls hostel with new hostels under construction. Many students find it hard to get hostel as hostel is provided based upon merit list. Beside this mess food cant be rated very good but at same time it is not very bad.

Alumni network is really strong. Seniors are really helpful you have to get involved with them and they will give you all they got.

Exam structure consists of 2 minor exams and 1 major exam. 2 minor exams are of 30 marks and best of the 2 is selected for each subject major are of 50 marks and are carried out once every semester. Rest 20 marks are evaluated by teachers based upon the performance of student in whole semester.

I appeared for JEE mains exam, after my JEE Mains result i waited for JAC forms. JAC is a joint admission Committee which deals with admissions in top 5 colleges in Chandigarh. Uiet Pec and 3 more colleges were part of this Committee. After filling JAC form which mostly enrolls during month of june end or starting of july i filled my choices. Based on Jee Main marks merit list was formed and students were called for counseling in respective colleges as per their choices.

Faculty of college is quite good. Teachers are easily available and are very helpful. Teachers have subject knowledge and will give you very much to learn. HOD's of department are very friendly and very helpful. They will organise many events which will help students to develop as a student.
