Likes
- The atmosphere in the campus. Its is of 650 acres so it is full if greenary and you can enjoy very much inside the campus.
- The vast range of oppurtunities. Each and every faculty will hep nad guide you if you are up with a project.
- Placements. Students have high scope of getting placed if they have decent cgpa.
Dislikes
- Ragging. As of now it is reduced but it is still there here. This doesn't meant that management donot ficus on it. Wjt happens is as it run by the student council, the ragging complaints will not reach the committee members.
- Temperature. As iam from the south part of India, it took some time to adjust with the temperature changes. There will be extreme temperatures in summers and winters.
- Facultis or the management donot involve and motivate the students to join in the clubs or societies. Students who donot have any connections with seniors wouldnot be able to be aware of the importance and benifits of it.
Course Curriculum Overview
As my branch is mechanical, i have chosen this because of its application in real life. You will get wide range of oppurtunities to explore and create something new. The faculty here have more than 20 years of experience and they are very helpful. The only problem here is ,there will be no one to tell you to do some project and the benefits of it. You should realise yourself and go to the teachers. So its better to have connection with your seniors to guide you. There will be mini test,midterm,and end term examinations and the paper diffuculty will be easy to moderate level.
Internships Opportunities
In mechanical department decent amount of companies have visited.Companies like Bajaj auto,hero motorcorp and bis have visited our campus with their 2 month internships of 20k- 30k per month. The peojects will be different with dofferent companies. The main thing they focus on is the knowledge that you have and they train us in improving it.
Placement Experience
From 7th semester students are eligible for the placements. There will be many companies cisiting the campus according to your branch. There will be less scope for the branches like civil, msme, chemical departments. Companies like hero,bajaj auto visit our campus to recruit. The hightes package this year is 21 lpa and the average is about 8 lpa in mechanical department. This year thre is 85 percentage of students got placed till now and they are currently in 8th semester. I presonally want to appear in the placements and get a job of decent package.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tution fee will be according to which category you belong. Fees of Obc and general candidates have 69276 rupees, remaining will have around 8000 rupees. For the entire btech you will be paying around 6 lakhs if you are if obc or general category. As iam from obc category and income is above 10 lacks i dont have any scholar ship benefits. And college donot provide any sort of scholarship. In the 5th or 6th semester you will have internship oppurtunities (with stiphend and without also)and in the 7th and 8th semester you will have placements and will get job if you are eligible and fit enough.
Campus Life
There will be many fests happen here. Technical fests like maffick, clfest conducted by tech societies li e-smmit, cultural club like tooryanad will be cinducted annually. You can find there in social media platforms like instagram. Here in MANIT, many different kinds of books are available not only subjective wise but also in the different generes. Every classroom has a digital projector in the mechanical department and there is a problem with the washrooms. Besides the cleanliness is good enough. Coming to the sports there is a sports complex for that and there will be inter nit competitions held annually. Our campus run by the student council so each and every problem will get acknowledge by the students head.
Hostel Facilities
You can stay in the provided hostels by the institution or outside. In the institution hostels you wil be provided with a room of two members capacity, a table, a cot and a cupboard. You will have common washrooms with geaser and a warer cooler. You will also have mess in the hostel but the fee will be seperate as it is run by the caterers. The quality eill be good enough. In your first year the management will guide you in the accomodation preocess completely and that is pretty affordable. Hostels will the inside the manit institution so it is quite safe and secure.
Admission
Candidates who qualified 12th standard are eligible. The complete process will be online on the website nta.nic.in. All the exam dates,application forms,fee structure will be availatlbke on the portal. Coming to the reservations, candidates other than general category have reservations in cutoffs and course fees. Admission process will be completely through jee examinations. To get into nit you have to first clear the exam with decent percentile. Jee mains will be of two sessions, one in january and the other will be in april. Each session contains 6 papers(candidates will get alloted on a single day), 4 for the btech students and two for the barch and planning. The diffuculty level will be different for different papers and percentile will be completely based on the candidates who appeared in your session. So its a fair evaluation and there will be helpline numbers available on the portal for queries.
