Course Curriculum Overview

4

The PGDM Media and Entertainment is the newest offering of WeSchool, and is a specialised one to create media professionals. In that aspect, it is a well-rounded course, teaching you about general bysiness foundations while also having subjects like Media and Entertainment Business and Media Selling and Negotiation to integrate you into the world of the media business and how it operates. The course can be more practical-based while the exams can be set tougher to ask practical-based questions but overall, this is a course worth pursuing for someone wanting to work and excel in the media and entertainment industry

Internships Opportunities

4

A lot of companies like HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Reliance Retail, Hasbro and DHL, to name a few, offer internships in the finance, marketing, HR and operations space with an average stipend of Rs. 20,000 a month.

Placement Experience

4

Campus placements is a major part of WeSchool, students become eligible for Summer Internships right after they begin the course and for Final Placements during the middle of their second year. WeSchool has a good record of placements, with 97% of students getting jobs on graduation, with the highest package being Rs.40 lacs this year. The average package received is Rs.12.5 lacs. Roles range from management trainees to assistant managers across finance, marketing, HR and operations. My plan is to enter the media and entertainment industry as business manager.

Fees and Financial Aid

The course currently costs Rs. 7,00,000 per year with an additional fees of Rs. 2,20,000 for hostel facilities for outdoor students. The other general expenses will be food and travel but one can easily manage that in a city like Mumbai. The college has certain criteria for financial aid and scholarships, including the annual income of the family and academic performance, and a student can earn as much as 90% scholarship if they meet the required criteria.

Campus Life

4

All types of activities are held on campus - from sports events like RunBhoomi and Impact - to a business fest called WeBiz. These are held in February-March, with students encouraged to participate in high numbers. The Media and Entertainment course has a club called the Media Forum which organises events every few month while committees like Media Fire and Media Conclave ensure monthly guest sessions or a large event where industry members are invited for networking. The library is well-stocked with digital and physical books with easy access to students, in fact there are two libraries for students to expand their knowledge base

Admission

The PGDM in Media and Entertainment course was relevant for me as I am interested in the industry. All the details about applications - including forms and fees - can be found on the college website. The admission process was smooth, with a GMAT cut off of 75 percentile and CAT was 80th percentile. GMAT is almost at the level of CAT on difficulty, with English being tougher and CAT being tougher for maths. The college was clear in its admission process and conducted it very smoothly, calling candidates at specific times and conducting GDs and PIs in those times at specific dates, all of which were very thorough. The only thing that could improve is their timing of declaration of results so that it is in line with other MBA colleges, thereby causing no delays for prospective students.

Interview Experience

4

Yes, the process included both GD and PI. The GD topic given to me was internet penetration in India over the years. We were given a sheet of paper with some data and asked to present our views on it for 15 minutes. The interview round included questions about the personal self, the motivations to do an MBA and why we have arrived at this decision at this particular time. There was also a focus on current affairs and how well a candidate is aware of the world around them

Placement Experience:

During my time the first company that visited our organization was Naukri.com, and feel proud to say that i got placed in the same organization. I am very happy with my placement. But talking about my peers. Number of companies who visited to our institute was compared to low as per our expectations. Majority of the companies who visited the institute were sales based organizations. Very less companies for finance and HR field. This made a difficult call for students.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenerio at our caollege can be described as average overall. Most recruiting company belong to the banking and supply chain sectors. Marketing students generally have better placement opportunities, while finance and HR students do get job, though the package are not very high. Buswiness analytics has limited scope as very few companies visit the campus for the roles in that domain.

To be honest there are placements but the placements are like no one want to be there it is just something unacceptable for the HR students . The promises the long talks are all false and they doesn't focus on students future and career rather they care for just attendance

Course Curriculum Overview:

I did choose this course as I am genuinely interested in management and if it is healthcare management that makes me excited. There is a different teaching faculty for each and every subject. The faculties are highly qualified market professionals and experts who teach in an extremely interactive and practical way. They are very supportive. There was one exam conducted per semester which included projects and written exams.

No such bad remarks though. As the college is very superior and one can take admission with complete ease as the college faculty, staff, workers are very helpful and there motive is very clear and remarkable. This college surely helps students in grooming and enhancing skill to the top. I would definitely recommend this college to the upcoming students those who are planning to do MBA in order to achieve goals and learn quality skills.
