Course Curriculum Overview
According to my knowledge, the ecommerce market in India is untapped and underdeveloped as compared to other countries. It has a huge scope of growth of billions of dollars. The curriculum is designed according to the market requirements as well as insights from strong alumini base, which helps students like us to understand the scenario, deal with real life problems and devise effective solutions for the same.
Internships Opportunities
Companies like Tribeca, Intergold, ICICI Bank etc. offer roles like Finance, Marketing,Hr and operations intern with stipend ranging from 10 thousand INR to 1 Lakh INR. Usually the internship description consists of real time problem statements and projects.
Placement Experience
As far as I know, the campus placement might be offered during summer internships, as per their requirements or the start date is usually after 4th Trimester. The current highest package stands to be 40 lakhs while the average package stands 14 lakhs. After getting the degree, I wish to join a reputable MNC at a decent position and continue in that MNC till I reach a commendable position than the acquired position.
Fees and Financial Aid
The complete cost of course is around 20 lakhs including the tuition fees, accomodation and other compulsory charges. In my case, I didn't get any type of scholarships or financial aid. Currently the institute is focusing on summer internships by inviting lots of MNCs and startups through connections, networking and alumini base which offer exciting stipends.
Campus Life
Overall, the campus life at the institute is interesting, exciting and on the other hand, exhausting as the faculties schedule the lectures early in the morning till 5pm in the evening, which makes it difficult to schedule time for extra curricular activites. There are not many clubs, but new establishments are encouraged by the director and Dean permissions. There is a student portal to track attendance, quizes, notes and assignment. These infrastuture seems common in every institute, but the UI/UX which the protal provides is user friendly.
Admission
The process took place immediately after CMAT results. We had to apply for the course through the website where they had already displayed the application date , fees and application form. Later on by filling the personal details, qualifications and work experience there were several courses to choose from, even after the previous year cutoff was declared, everyone was eligible to apply. The process of applying was smooth as well as allotment for the GDPI process was completed in few days after the applications got closed.
Other Applied Colleges
National Insurance Academy - [NIA] | Post Graduate Diploma in Management [PGDM] (Insurance)
The ROI which they promised as well as considering the future of insurance sector as compared to Welingkar Institute, I did not opt for this college
