Course Curriculum Overview
As the college is affiliated with AKTU, the curriculum is somewhat outdated and may not directly align with real-world demands. Despite this, the college offers numerous opportunities to enhance practical skills. Various clubs and societies provide platforms for personality development and skill improvement. The college faculty is excellent, highly supportive, and many hold Ph.D. degrees. The commendable faculty support contributes significantly to the positive learning environment. Emphasizing discipline is crucial at AKGEC. It is not merely a set of rules but an ingrained philosophy contributing to a well-structured and orderly academic atmosphere. In summary, while the curriculum may have limitations, AKGEC compensates by providing avenues for skill enhancement and personal development. The dedicated faculty, with their wealth of knowledge and support, adds immense value to the educational experience.
Internships Opportunities
The college only provides internships in the fourth year, which is a drawback. I got to know about this internship when I reached my college, so it's better to learn skills here and not rely solely on the college. Grab an internship opportunity in your second or third year—it's the best approach.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college does not provide any kind of scholarship. Only students who gain admission through counseling benefit from scholarships provided by AKTU. The UP Government extends scholarship benefits to these students, offering an amount of 60,000 for general category students and 120,000 for ST/SC students.The complete fees at AKGEC, inclusive of all costs except for a 20,000 registration fee paid during online counseling directly to AKTU, amount to 1,21,000. The college awards prize money every semester to students scoring 80% and above in sessional tests. Additionally, students with 100% attendance receive 1,000 as prize money. Various academic achievements also lead to different types of awards.
Campus Life
Our college does not provide any kind of fest. The only thing that happens in our college is a technical fest. There is no cultural fest; only a Diwali mela, Holi festival, and freshers' party are held here. We are eagerly waiting to see the improvement of AKGC in conducting events. The library facility here is excellent. There are two libraries where you can spend your time and create memories. Many clubs and societies are available where you can enhance your skills and personality. The college is good in terms of sports, with regular competitions held, and students actively participate in sports activities.
Admission
Jai hind everyone! I am currently a 1st-year B.Tech CSIT student at AKGEC. I secured admission through the AKTU counseling process, and being from the general category without reservation benefits, I managed to get into CSIT though JEE Mains. considering last year's cutoff for CSE was around 89-93. For specializations, the cutoff ranged from 81-90. If you're looking for specific category cutoffs, check the official AKTU page for accurate information. Additionally, it's worth mentioning that admission is also possible based on your 12th percentage. For Computer Science or Information Technology, a PCM percentage of 86 and above is required. If your 12th PCM percentage is 92-93, you have a good chance of securing admission in Computer Science and Engineering (Core). It's essential to note that the cutoffs mentioned are for the year 2023, during which our counseling started late, leading to a fall in cutoffs. This year, there is a possibility that cutoffs for every branch may increase.
