Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum for CSE-AI branch in IGDTUW is totally artificial intelligence oriented. This curriculum fully focuses on the future trends and current trends in this industry. In first semester I studied the subjects like Maths, Physics, Intelligent Systems, Communication Skills, Python and Computer organization and architecture. The curriculum does prepare us for real world applications or further academic pursuits. Though improvement can be made in making the curriculum more tech and application oriented rather than theory. The frequency and timing of exams is nice but the first year was shrunken due to covid otherwise the frequency is fine and the level of exams is medium to difficult.
Internships Opportunities
Many leading companies like Google, Microsoft, Adobe visits during the placement season. The roles of SWEs, SDEs and product interns are offered here. The stipend goes from 10k to 1.25 lakes. A lot of students also get pre-placement offers.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for campus placement from 4th year but before that all the students are eligible for internship opportunities. Various companies like Google, Microsoft, Adobe, American Express, Atlassian, Flipkart, Uber and many more visit our campus throughout the year with different opportunities for the students. Highest international package in 2022 was 1.2 crore and 82 lakhs is national highest package. Percentage of getting a placement is 100% irrespective of the salary offered.
Fees and Financial Aid
In first year, I paid 127000 and there is an yearly increase policy of 10000. Complete cost of my education will be around 5 lakhs which is pretty good and cheap for studying in a government engineering college in Delhi. Various scholarships and financial aids are also available for students, one can check them on the university portal.
Campus Life
There are four yearly fests now, namely, Taraangana (the cultural fest), Innerve (tech fest), Ignite (sports fest) and Aarohan (the literary fest). There's a wide range of books in the library and e library which are available for college students. The classrooms and the architecture of the college are not upto your expectations. The only thing this college can promise is internships and placement opportunities. If you have any wild expectations from college life then this college is not for you.
Admission
I appeared for JEE Mains in 2022. There were 2 attempts for this entrance exam. I had scored 90% in my 12th CBSE exam in subjects Physics, Chemistry, Maths, English and Economics. I scored 96.4 percentile in jee mains and my rank was 33060. I didn't have any reservation quota so applied as general category and got IGDTUW, CSE-AI in first round of counseling
