A college of College

I would like to appreciate my department faculty and their management. But the main management is very poor. A lot of improvement is needed to add up quality to the education standards.

For getting the admission in MCA course,I appeared for CMAT. I scored 84 marks. My marks were quite less but still my merit rank in state was good. My rank was 426. Being a general category student,I didn't get admission in any of the government colleges. I preferred to study in Vadodara and had selected Parul Institue during the admission procedure. Also I was looking for getting admitted directly into the 2nd year. I easily got it. The processes were all centralized. I easily got the admission.

Our university focuses more on theoretical. In all the semesters, excluding the 6th semester, we have 5 theoretical subjects and 2 practical subjects. From 4th semester on-wards,we had elective subjects. The elective subjects were quite good and something new for us. As per my opinion I think it would be better if the practical part is concentrated more because after completion of MCA,the opted position is Software Developer. To work in Software field,you should be technically sound.

In our college many companies come for selecting students for internship. Only few of the companies provide internship,rest of others provide free training. So it depends upon the type of company. The placement cell of our college contribute a lot to get all the students placed. So that's a plus point.

As mentioned above the placement done in our college is very good compared to other colleges. In our college,More than 300 companies come to select students from different fields. The packages differ depending on the type of company. The highest package that was offered was around 7-8 LPA. Big and reputed companies like TCS, CogniZant,L&T come to our college. As many as 300 and 400 students get placed every year.

When Cultural Season approaches,many events are conducted at our college. Events like sports and cultural programs are conducted only once or twice in a year. Events related to education take place frequently. When it comes to participation,not all are permitted. Only the ones who clear the audition rounds are allowed to participate. The most horrible part is that on entertainment events like days celebration we have regular lectures.

The fee structure according to the infrastructure is not bad. But education quality wise the fee structure may be expensive. The fee structure of our course is Rs.73,000. So for a middle category people who comes under general category,it may be difficult to pay such amount at a sudden.

Scholarship is available for few students who come under ST,SC category. There was scholarship offer last year for the students who come in top 1000 rankings. For them the 50% fees got discounted. Now various offers are available for different category of students.

Our College is flooded with Boys. Girls are in small numbers. The Campus life at our college is pleasant. We have a huge campus. But when it's break time,it can be compared to a railway station. You have to wait in queue to buy food. Waiting is a part of life,so it doesn't matters. We have plenty of labs and auditoriums at our college. We have a ground for sports. Sports like cricket,football is generally played. Many competitions take place. It is a great fun because of the different activities put up during our academics.

Hostel and mess quality is quite good. But for the final year students it becomes expensive to live in hostel as they charge whole year's fees. By the way,I have never experienced a hostel or a PG life. So I cannot elaborate the answer to this question.

No I had no interaction with my college seniors. I have no such experience. So I can't comment on this question.
