AKGEC- Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College full review

The curriculum that is followed in AKGEC is decided by the UP State University AKTU as this college is affiliated with the AKTU. The curriculum follows old BTech teaching styles which focus more on theoretical knowledge, not on practical knowledge. The main area of improvement in the curriculum is that it should focus on currenttechnologies that are trending in the industries not on that old traditional style. There are 2-3 internal team conducted by the college itself before the main semester exams and at the end sem there are University exams.

The companies visit campus in 7th semester for campus placement. Companies like , Amazon, Accenture, Cognizant, Infosys, TCS, Wipro etc visits campus in 7th semester and give their offers to the students. The highest on-campus placement offer is 30 lakhs and the highest off-campus placement is 1.13 Cr both offered by Amazon. The college claims 100% placements , almost all the students that are eligible for placemnets get offers in CSIT departments and no is loa in core branches. I want to get placed and do job after completing the degree.

The tuition fees of the the full course of 4 years is around 5 lakhs. !.4 lakhs in first year, then around 1.15-1.18 lakhs I remaining years according to the branch. The complete cost of Btech is around 10 lakhs as it will be minimum 1 lakh per annum spending of staying , either in hostel , in pg or in flats. The hostels of the college are quite expensive , it cost 1.15 lakhs per annum for a triple sharing room, then increase accordingly. The first scholarship you can get is tuition fee waiver , in which the whole tuition will reduce to around 1 lakh for 4 years. You can choose that during the Aktu counselling period. The no of seats are 5% of the total seats in the branch. Then you can get the scholarship from UP government if you are eligible for this. Companies visits the campus for campus recruitment in 7th semester, both CSIT and core companies visits the campus.

There is no technical or cultural fest in AKGEC, you have to go to other colleges to enjoy their fests. Library consists of large number of books and journals that you can read. A projector and digital board facilitates every classroom. College mainly focuses on those sport which are conducted by the university at state level like football, basketball, badminton , volleyball. AKGEC's football team is one of the best in in AKTU. College also provides professional coaches for these sports. There are so many cultural and technical societies are in the college, you can join any of them if you meet their requirements. There is one student-run NGO in the college named Slum Swaraj Foundation (SSF), which was founded by an alumni of the college in which members teaches the slum children's near the campus I two different locations. But our college didn't recognize it officialy.

The eligibility for the Btech is 12th from any board or Diploma in engineering( for lateral entry in 2nd year). There are two ways to get admission in AKGEC, first through AKTU couneceling and another is through direct admission based on class 12th marks. Through AKTU counselling you have to fill the college during choice filling and f4ro the direct admission you can get the application form on the official website of the college akgec.ac.in . You can also find the application fees and application dates on the site. All the reservations that are by the UP state government can be applied but only if you get admission through AKTU counselling . The exam that is needed for admission through counselling is JEE mains which is conducted twice a year and rank is decided by your best performance in both attempts.
