NMIMS: My Journey, My experience

the course curriculum aligns with my career aspirations in management. Its relevance and comprehensive are commendable, catering to both theoretical as well as practical knowledge. The frequency of timing of exams is structured around a trimester system with mid-term assessments, while the exams are challenging as well. every 2-3 months you have to take exams. overall the curriculum designs effectively prepare students for both practical challenges in the field and further academic pursuits, making it a valuable choice for those seeking a career in management.

internship opportunities at our college offer students valuable hands-on experience in various companies, enhancing their practical skills and industry knowledge. some prominent companies that provide internships include Pesico, Wells Fargo, Heritage Foods, Unibic, and many more internship roles predominantly lean towards, marketing profiles, providing students with exposure to marketing strategies, market research, product management, and other related areas. the internship typically offers a stipend, with an average amount of around 30,000 rupees.

campus placements at our college commence in the 4th trimester, typically during the second year of the course. the opportunities presented during these placements have been quite promising Several esteemed companies like JP Morgan, Bank of America, HCL, ICICI Bank, and many more have visited our campus offering good job opportunities. in terms of salary package the highest CTC offered was around 40 LPA, and the average was around 13 LPA for the 2023 batch, all the students got placed and for the 2024 batch, it is ongoing.

the fee structure of the college follows an annual I bncreASE policy, with the tuition fees rising up 50,000 to 1 lakh every year. terms of the complete cost of my education it sums up to 22 lakhs. this figure encompasses all necessary expenses associated with pursuing the course. regarding campus employment opportunities I have been fortunate eneouhggh to grab both placements and an internship from the institution, I have been placed in a company with a CTC of 11 lakhs for the role of strategy and analytics. additionally o got the opportunity to undertake an internship in digital marketing and market research.

the library has an extensive collection of books, catering to various interests and study preferences. from classics like Kotler to contemporary works, students have access to a wide range of resources. classrooms are also occupied state of art facilities featuring 65-inch smart desktops in each classroom that enhance the learning experience. in terms of extracurricular activities, the campus offers a plethora of options in both sports and extracurricular activities, Also, theres a student-run social group the NISCHAY committee, for instance, fosters a sense of community and belongingness through activities and initiatives

The hostel provided is quite comfortable with the spacious 4 seater rooms ensuring adequate personal space. Regarding meals, the quality is good, with a diverse menu offering both north and south Indian food. In terms of affordability, the hostel is relatively expensive but it's more kind of you are staying in a hotel. As the hostel is mandatory there's no option for alternative accommodation. Students are required to adhere to hostel rules and regulations upon enrollment

The admission process was fairly straightforward. I took the NMAT exam, where the minimum cutoff score hovered around 200, sometime varying slightly around 200,205 or 21. to be eligible for the course one had to achieve at least 200 on the NMAT. finding the application portal was easy a simple Google search led to it. the application fees were around 2000 rupees. while you could take up to three exams, NMIMS accepted the result of your first attempt. The exams were frequent and the timing was manageable. they were more about managing time efficiency, as the difficulty level progressed from easy to tough based on your performance, hard questions carried more marks, incentivizing accuracy. However, one aspect I found cumbersome was the admission process. unlike other colleges that charge a token amount, NMIMS requires payment of first-year tuition fees plus one-year hostel fees upfront for confirmation. this could be improved to ease the financial burdens on the student during admisson
