Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is made with great detail including many integrated classes for extremely important topics and most commonly occurring clinical cases that encompasses different subjects, like tuberculosis, myocardial infarction, asthma, etc. Most of the professors teach via slides while a few teachers on the blackboard. Overall the classes are interactive and well explained. Internal exams are conducted after completion of each unit / 2-3 units if they're small ones. Apart from that there are semester exams (2 in each year, 3 in 2nd year) and professional exams at the completion of each year.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fees is only Rs.5856 for the entire course of 5 years, inclusive of hostel charges. Mess charges are Rs.4300 per month. There aren't a lot of scholarship options available, they aren't much needed as well, provided the course fees is well affordable. There is a lot of scope for research opportunities though, like the ICMR STS project which gives a one time stipend of Rs.50,000 currently, if you're project gets selected. I'm currently working on an STS project, due on 29th March in the Pulmonary Medicine department.

Campus Life

4

The annual intracollege fest is held every year in the month of April, across a span of 3-4 days. Our foundation day is celebrated in the month of September. This year onwards the intercollege fest, Elyssia, will commence, in the first half of April. The library facilities are well updated. All the students have access to various journals and medical aids. The Up-to-date access provided by our central library has specifically been of much use to me especially for prescription writing in pharmacology. Library card is issued to all the students using which you can issue books from the library for upto 2 weeks (that can be further extended). Library is well air conditioned and has separate desks, joint tables, reading rooms all options available. There are various clubs like that of sports, dance, music, drama, literary, art. I am personally a part of the literary club and we conduct many competitions throughout the year, especially during annual fest.

Admission

The admission process was very smooth. Took one day to get to the college for all the paperwork and hostel allotment. Certain medical reports are needed, along with basic documents, marksheet, ID proof. All the documents needed have been mentioned in the brochure clearly and can be easily accessed on the official website of college. My AIR was 4015, and I was allotted the college in Round 2 counselling.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is completely based on NMC new guidelines. Along with the theory classes where we know the structure and their working in dissection we actually see them on cadaver . Lectures should be more interesting as it's get boring to literally listen the concepts for first time like a story and at the end we forget everything

Course Curriculum Overview:

Medical field is a really good field in my opinion to serve humankind and learn about science of nature and life!the curriculum is a little overpaced and there are 19 subjects which are taught in a timespan of 4.5 years which is a bit hectic! There are 4 professional exams and 9 semesters which have pretty good difficulty and assess our skills and education. We have regular examinations in around 4-5 months each. Only thing id like to change in the curriculum is better assessment of many topics which are taught pretty well but aren't examined much leading us to waste our time in focussing on them.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well, mbbs is very hard and long term process. You will be bored in 1st year because you cant get real clinical cases. But in Final year, 3rd Prof Part 2, you will get huge pressure. Because there are total 11 subjects, you should study in final year. It is a great burden for all. I'm not satisfied with Nmc curriculum. They are not thinking about students. They are implement their rules in chilled ac room. But they don't know the real scenarios.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is quite planned and great and has a lot of advantages in having a clinical and learning diagnostic approach to various diseases. One area where the curriculum can improve is by having more practical classes rather than theoretical classes. The exams are quite difficult but are quite planned to make you understand the clinician and the passing percentage is 50 percent.
