An overview of NIT Warangal

They teach us many relevant things in our course to keep us up to the industry standards. Some relevant courses are Introduction to AI and ML, Data Structures and Algorithms, Linear IC Applications and many more. There are other courses as well which don't belong to our domain(ECE) but help us out in other areas such as several Mathematical courses .Overall the courses are well structured and are bound to help us out when we sit for Internships and Placement drives.

There are several companies which come for internship drives, Microsoft, Amazon, Amazon Web Services, Goldman Sachs, DE Shaw are few of the many companies which come for internships to our college for software developing roles. In other branches also placement opportunities are decent, but some branches don't get any opportunities with respect to internships.

The campus placements in our college are definitely the best amongst all NITs. We have the opportunity to sit for internship drives at the beginning of our 5th semester and for placements at the beginning of the 7th semester. Most of our fellow students get PPOs (pre placement offers) at the same company where they have interned.

Tuition is at a decently affordable price compared to other private institutions. There are several provisions for people who are not as privileged as others, such as fee concessions and education loans etc. to name a few. A yearly tution fee costs us about 125000, which is a decently affordable price in my opinion.

The club culture in our college is decent. I myself am a part of the Quiz Club , currently in the capacity of Executive Member. The sports culture is also great with Volleyball and Badminton being the go to sports for many of the students, faculty and staff. The classrooms are also well equipped.

The hostel facilities are above average, with 8 hostels for second year boys, one for third year boys and 4th year boys. Also there is a hostel for 1st years, Mtechs and Phds. There is also an international students hostel for students from other countries and Non Resident Indians.

I had taken the JEE Mains exam in 2022. My rank was 5651 and my percentile was 99.3852587. I had filled the JOSAA counselling for the admissions. In the first round of the counselling itself I got my second preference which was NIT Warangal ECE. I waited till the 6th round to observe if my preferences slide up, but there was no change so I locked my preference in. After the counselling was over, the college notified us with the dates for reporting, documents to be brought etc. I had not availed any reservations since I belong to the OPEN category. Also the JEE Mains in my time was held in two sessions and the exams were held in two shifts, a morning shift and an evening shift. The morning shift was from 9AM to 12PM and the evening shift was from 3PM to 6PM. You allowed three attempts in three years from the year you passed the 12th grade.
