Remarks

The college is more like a school but you'll eventually adapt to it. You'll learn how to adjust. Keep your expectations very very low, so that you don't feel bad. The college is academically focused, very strict with attendance and assignments. You can join it if you're academically focused.

Entrance Preview

Maharaja Agrasaen and Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology are the best colleges under IP university for pursuing engineering after USICT. I didn't achieve a score good enough for getting into IITs or NITs. So, this was the best option for me. Moreover, it is situated in Delhi and that's a great plus point for exposure. Visit the college site for more: www.msit.in

Course Curriculum Overview

4

MSIT offers you engineering in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication and Electrical and Electronics. The First Year is the same for all of them. Subjects change in the second year. The college runs in two shifts: Morning(8am-2.30pm) and Evening(10am-5pm). You can read about the streams on the college website.

Internships Opportunities

No, the college does not provide internships. You have to search on your own. An internship fair is held annually by E-Cell, where you can participate. Internship Fairs are quarterly held in the city.

Placement Experience

3.5

There is an active placement department in the campus which is putting in all-out efforts for organizing several placement activities throughout the academic year. Companies like Infosys, Microsoft, Accenture, Aricent, Think and Learn, Ion Trading, Urban Clap, Amazon, HSBC come to recruit the students. Even though people criticize the job profile offered, but they are still better than the jobs offered in other IPU colleges.

College Events

3.5

Lower down your expectations to 0(Z.E.R.O) so as to somewhat enjoy the three fests of our college- ENVA, Avensis, and Genesis. They all happen consecutively in January second week. They are definitely not even close to DU fests or any way. But that is what you get in this academically focused college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible. IPU is cheaper than IITs or NITs. The fees are around 1,08,000 per year(University Fees 40,000 is already included). Extra Charges are applicable for hostel facilities. Usually, some colleges have fees around 2-3 lacs/annum. So, the college is pretty affordable.

Campus Life

4

The Gender ratio is 10:1. You'll find people from different areas of India here. You'll find a lot of Haryanvis here and Jaats too. About extracurricular activities, the college itself doesn't host any such competitions. It is the college societies which help you get exposure. We have the technical society, debating society, music society, dance society, marketing society, theatrical society, entrepreneurship cell, IEEE. Most of them are okayishly active(like once a fortnight).

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel: The Maharaja Mahendra Pratap Hostel provides accommodation to around 200 boys and 100 girls in a four-storeyed building with all connected facilities. Hygienic and nutritious food is provided at a reasonable cost. Staff Accommodation: Quarters are provided to the teaching and non-teaching staff with all latest facilities on reasonable charges. All the quarters are well furnished. Canteen: The canteen of MSIT is having a seating capacity of 60-70 persons simultaneously with clean surroundings. The eatables of good quality are available at a reasonable cost.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are great here, they'll guide you and help you. Just respect them and they'll always care about you.

Exam Structure

The exam system is like the one you had in 12th boards. You have internal practicals and theory exams. (100 marks) Then you have external practicals and theory exams. (100 marks) They happen at the end of every semester. Attendance is important in our college.

Admission

I got admission in this institute by spot counselling. The Admission process in IP University is online counselling which consists of 3 rounds and then one offline which is the spot round. 3 rounds of couselling are held online and you are alloted a college as per rank and your preference list. The college may or might not change in the three rounds of online counselling. In my case, it didn't, despite a good score. Reservation is considered in online couselling. If you are unsatisfied with the outcome of all three rounds, you can sit for the spot counselling which happens at the university campus in Dwarka. There is no sorts of reservation in spot couselling. It is all rank based. Refer to this site for more: www.ipuadmissions.nic.in

Faculty

3.5

The faculty of the college is okay. I'm not as qualified as them so I cannot assess them. I'm sorry. Most of the teachers are strict, some are chilled out. Some are really supportive, while some are not. It is a matter of perspective. A good teacher is one whose teachings you're able to understand. The teachers are fine.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

When it comes to curriculum everything us fine accept 1st year curriculum. My branch is ece in 1st year i have to study chemistry and physics which is no use for anybody in future it is just waste of time pretty outdated. For 2,3 and 4th year curriculum is far better than what it is in 1st year. Odd semester starts form August and after 2 month we have to give midsem exam.1 month after midsem we have to give endsem. There is very short time period between midsem and endsem examinations.Even semester starts form January everything is same as that of odd semester.

Placements are good in DTU. Usually a student is eligible to sit in placements from 4th year. Last year 325+ companies visited the campus like google, abode, Amazon, Microsoft, zomato, samsung, maruti suzuki, etc. They all have made 2050+ offers. The highest domestic package was offered by Atlanssian of 82.05LPA. The overall average package was 16.71LPA. The average package of my branch (Production and Industrial Engineering) was 12.34LPA. And in tech branches like CSE, IT it was around 24-25 LPA. Almost everyone is allowed to sit for placements. In PIE branch around 60-65% of student got placed in on campus.
