EXPLORING SHRI MATA VAISHNO DEVI UNIVERSITY

Economics was always in my preferences as i was going for the political science but then switched to economics honours. This field gave me a deep view and knowledge about the various economics of the world and of India too. The curriculum is well prepared for the students, mostly for the first two semesters, the curriculum is mainly based upon what you have already learnt in class 12th. Teaching method is good and teachers are also very friendly in nature. Talking about the exam, the exams are held on a regular basis and ensures that the student is learning thing. Difficulty level is easy to moderate as it is not that hard to qualify and score good in these exams.

Various Scholarships are offered in our university as I haven't availed any scholarship so i dont know much about this but yes if you have a cgpa of more than 9 then you get a discount of 10% from your annual fee.

Campus life of the college is good. It is spread around an area of of more than 400 acres where you can roam, chill with your friends, play in the ground, there is market inside the college campus where you can eat and have fun. There are various clubs in the university like for dance, sports, music etc.

Hostel facility is good, spacious rooms and mess food is also good (not like the food of your mom's hands) but still good to eat. There is Coffee Day Beverages shop inside the hostel for coffee, burger, and other items that you want to eat in snacks or sometimes in the middle of the night. There are various hostels like Basohli, Nilgiri, Trikuta, kailash and vidhyanchal for boys and Shivalik and Vaishnavi. Registration process and affordability is superb, it is very cheap as compared to hostels of other universities. Overall smvdu hostel is good.

I took the admission in the spot round, it was my last chance as i was waiting for DU but my parents wanted me to study here as it was close from my home. Eligibility of the couse is the student must pass the class 12th and must give the CUET exam if he/she wants to take admission normally rather than in the spot round. In spotround the merit is calculated on the basis of 12th marks. Application fee for SMVDU is ?1500. Coming in the exam section, exams are held frequently which i think is too frequent for students. Rest the admission process is very smooth and thus needs no improvement. Location wise the college is very good as it is situated in between the hills of Mata vaishno devi. Jai Mata Di
