So as an undergraduate mechanical engineer, I will deal here only with the mechanical curriculum of SVNIT. The mechanical engineering course consists of Thermal, Material and Metallurgical, design, production engineering. Here all of these are covered under the mechanical engineering course. The subjects taught in SVNIT for mechanical engineering, really feel it has practical applications in industries when you visit industries and see the applications of the theory that was taught in the class. that means it is going with the industrial applications much well. Only thing that need to be changed in the course is to increase the frequency of upgrading the course. I strongly feel that old-fashioned subjects are taught which are becoming irrelevant to the industries nowadays. The use of computers should be given more weightage. Software like CAD, Solidworks, Ansys, etc should be added in the syllabus. In every semester there are two exams mid sem and end sem 30 and 50 marks respectively.CT+qz 20mark

According to new curriculum from 8th sem stufents get internships.Even student can go for interrnships in summer breaks on their own. major companies visiting the campus are microsoft, adobe, amazon,flipkart,tata,john dheere MG,suzuki,Merecedes benz, etc highest package offered last year was 48lpa and average was around 12lpa if we talk about mecahnical engineering branch in particular highest was18.85lpa and avg was 8.5lpa. in mechanical negineering 82%% students were placed last year while for svnit it was 88%. Talking about plans after graduation is for placement and aftersome years go for higherr studies inn IITs or foreign universities.

The increase in tuition fees is actually not controlled by the university it is controlled by the NITS head office located at NIT Rourkela. To be fair the tuition fees is very much affordable and there are no hikes ever seen in the tution fees. Even there are too many scholarships provided by the central govt. and other NGOs also. If we calculate the complete cost of education along with hostels for a general student who does not avail of any scholarship and fee remission. it costs aroud 7,50,000/- tution feee 62500 per sem and hostel fee around 55000 per year there isremission in tution fee according to family income ,2/3 remission for income 1-5 lakh per anum and full remissionn for less than 1lakh per anum. there is no remsison for hostel fees. Gujrat govt provides scholarship tp non genral students of gujrat only and there aremany scholarshipp schemes that private orgnization and NGO's provide that are available on SVNIT web page, Phd scolars and mtech students get stipend of ?35000/- and ?12400/- per month

The overall campus experience is good enough to enjoy durinng your stufy years. There are basically two big events of college. Cultural festt named Sparsh and TEcno manegerial fest named Mindebend.Both fest are held in feb to march . There is a central library with very nice facilities ranging all books from novels to scientific journals. but a bitter point is lib is not open 24*7. it closes at around 6 on sat and sunday . and in exam days it closes at 11 pm. where as normal working days it closes at arpung 7-8 pm. The classs rooms are less with projectors and now in new departments ducting and ac failities are also provided . THere is onne sport compelx having badminton court, table tennis court, lawn tennis court, volleyball court , a basket ball court , pool etc. gym is also situated nearby to sport complex. one main canteen and night canteens in almost evert hostels except few. there are many stuent chapters involving technical and cultural clubs.

To get admission to this university you need to clear the Jee Mains entrance exam well known as JEE Mains. talking about the cutoff of SVNIT, in 2023 3773 was the opening rank and it goes to around 55000 for the general category for the home state. and it varies according to the reservation available. There are basically three types of reservations provided. Category: general (EWS), OBC, SC, ST. FEMALE 50% HOME STATE QUOTA After Jee's mains is cutoff you need to go through the JOSAA counseling. there will be multiple rounds for that counseling. in these rounds, you will be alloted a seat according to your choice. then there is special round of CSAB for seat allocation. where you can choose a seat according to your choice and rank. Once you are done with the counseling process. You will be notified by mail from the college for reporting, and on the required time and date you need to report physically where you need to carry the required documents that they will provide list.
