- Classrooms as a building was shutdown a year ago and new buildings are under construction
- Water quality has caused some concerns as there was typhoid going around recently
- Some building are under construction thus causing some distress
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum has changed since my admission during my 1st year we had fundamentals of Thermal and fluid engineering, engineering mechanics which were branch specific courses and we were taught basic c language. Labs were regularly conducted and equipment is in acceptable state and the knowledge gained from experiments were also evaluated regularly. Like any other college there are some excellent professors some mediocre and some downright awful.
Placement Experience
Mechanical Department placements averages upto 9.2LPA in svnit which is pretty good as far as core branches go. Various companies like Tata, MG motors, Suzuki provide placement in core branches .Highest package for mechanical branch is 20LPA
Fees and Financial Aid
Fee structure includes 65000rs tuition fees, and 35000rs hostel fees for those who require such amenities and 3000rs for health related amenities, students admitted through dasa are required to pay 1000 us dollars per semester for tuition, for students whose family earns south of 1LPA can file itr to exempt their tuition fees
Campus Life
As it is a national college students from various states and walks of life meet here, space and organised tournaments are provided on regular basis for cricket, football, tennis, badminton, basketball, and volleyball.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel provides food 7 day long along with deserts on Sunday and ice cream every alternate Saturday or Friday. Taste of food is acceptable and one can get accommodated to it over time.There is breakfast, lunch and dinner and food items are different every day. Hostel fees for yearly basis is 35000 which includes mess fees
Admission
Admission process included josaa and on site visit to process the admission we had to show all the hardcopies of the documents we uploaded in josaa Jee cutoff for mechanical branch in svnit is about 96 percentile for general and 95 percentile for obc.
