Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum is based on 3 domains of Mechanical Engineering, namely Thermal, Manufacturing & Design. Practicals conducted on each subject to gain practical knowledge about basic subjects. Most of teachers are honestly not good in teaching, you need to put up your own effort in studying

For mechanical companies like bajaj, tvs ,deloitee, reliance, Maruti, essar offers intern opportunities. You can perform internship from 2nd year Vacations or in between classes if you can manage attendance

Placement Experience

Placement are down this time I'm writing due to recession as compared to past 3 years, but average placement in mechanical is 7-8 lpa, max is 15 lpa and 60-65% students placed in mechanical branch out of total 220 students

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition fees for all students is 65,500 per semester. Refund of tuition fees is provided on basis of income. Hostel costs per semester are nearly 38,000 including mess fees, caution money, room fees, etc. Also partial refund of mess fees is provided.

Campus Life

For new year Students, Kashish is organized by 2nd year students, a party of eat, dance, enjoy. Also any hostel on each festival conducts event like Ram Navmi, Garba, Independence day, Diwali, Maha shivratri, etc. Library is excellent maybe best in all nits, classroom facilities are not best but sufficient. Sport tournaments inter nit, inter departmental, etc are organized

Admission Process was easy and online Cutoff for gen category was 26000, ews was 35000, obc was 1.5 lakh in JEE mains Required criteria was min jee mains score Jee mains 2 attempts in a year Admission Process was through JOSAA 6 rounds allotment & CSAB 2 rounds for empty seats

Placements are good. Students are eligilble for campus placements from 7th semester. The highest package is 2100000 and the lowest is 200000. The median package is 3.5 to 4.5 lakhs per year. From last two years there was 100% placements but usually its 90%. I plan to pursue pg after this degree in either mtech or mba.

In our college placement starts from 7th semester and students are eligible from the 7th semester. The highest package is around 21 lakh and avg package is 3.5 to 4 lakhs(companies are tcs , tatvasoft , argusoft , IBM etc.) many students get placement like more than 50 % my simple plan is to get a good job from campus placement and do job after my graduation.

Honestly, i had applied so many NITs but due to my average score in JEE MAINS , i was getting only SVNIT and some Northen east NITs I did not choose other NITs as they are very far apart from my home state. SVNIT -The best for Transportation engineering

I chose SVNIT just because this is one of the best college for transportation engineering. Surat is the best city for seeing the development which is being carried out and a great infrastructure is also available. Great college for exploring and learning.

I had a very good jee mains rank and was getting in every nit and iiits admission in some branches but still i choose this because i had interest in coding and ai.
