What Students Say
Likes
- The club chapters have enough funds to give an event justice. Not like only the top 2-3 clubs are flourishing but all the clubs have brilliant events and students in those clubs are very passionate about their club.
- The location of this college that is Surat and also the are which is kind of posh. All the daily requirements are available nearby. Many food outlets are present so mess food can be avoided.
- There are students from all parts of India that take admission into this college. So there is a unique culture where all festivals are celebrated and your network just becomes wider and bigger.
Dislikes
- The 75% percentage attendance rule is really lame. I know all colleges have it but seriously there is no need to attend college just for the sake of attendance.
- There is only one canteen in this college. So if you want cheap food then you don't have many food choices.
- The infrastructure is quite old and broken. Renovation works are going on causing disturbances. Also there is need for a convocation hall.
Course Curriculum Overview
Mechanical engineering has been one of the pioneer branches of this college. The subjects are same old but they have tried to make it modern by making us do some drawing on Solidworks or by giving us liberty in labs to try whatever we want to. There are two semesters in a year. Each semester is around 5 months. There are two exams mid-sems and end-sems that are held as their name suggest. The difficulty level is on the higher side and evaluation is strict.
Fees and Financial Aid
You receive the the entire fee structure for Btech on the first day itself. There is no increase in the fees. The tution fees for a semester are 69500. But they do charge for amenities and other services once a year. So overall for a year we almost pay 1.6 lakh for education except hostel and mess not included. There is fee reduction for people of SC, ST and EWS category students.
Campus Life
The campus life in this college is brilliant. Once you find a group of similar minded people your life will be never boring. There are events going on evry weekend and not only one sometimes multiple events are held simaltaneously because there are fewer holidays than number of events. There are all types of clubs from technical to cultural and sports to classical music. Name your interst and this college has a club for it. There are two major fest held in this college. Mindbend is the techno managerial fest held in March for three days. Multiple workshops, guest lectures and tech and managerial events are held. Second fest is Sparsh which is cultural fest. It is around four days long with dance and music nights. ANd last day of course being celeibrity night.

Other Applied Colleges
The LNM Institute of Information Technology - [LNMIIT] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Electronics & Communication Engineering)
The college fees is quite high and they claim to increase it by 10% every year. So going there for ECE branch was not worth it. Had I been allotted CSE branch I would have surely taken this college.
