Gitam review

Our course curriculum is quite fine. I'd opted for CSE since it had a better scope and in GITAM , so far I'd a fine experience with my course and curriculum. We have a continuous grading method hence a student would have to give his efforts since the beginning. 70 marks are for internals and 30 for the sem end examination. The sem end exams are 1.5 to 2 hours long while the internals depend on the subject.

Since I am in the 2nd semester right now , i donot have any idea about the internships but there are quite a good number of opportunities lying around. A friend of mine has applied for one during the summer so I'd know then.

Students are eligible for placements from the 4th or 5th semester. Various companies like Infosys, Amazon , Flipkart , Google , TCS etc visit gitam. The highest package was 46.5 LPA from what I've heard. I might opt for MS.

GITAM provides scholarships to those who'd scored well in GAT and other competitive exams like JEE , EAMCET etc. Moreover those who are eligible for scholarships through these exams , would also be provided with a need based scholarship. For example , a friend of mine was granted 50 percent scholarship from her grades in the GAT exam and since she needed support financially as well , she'd applied for the need based scholarship and her final scholarship now is 75 percent. However any student's scholarship would be cancelled if they don't secure the proper grades. So in order to maintain the scholarship one is supposed to score 8 cgpa or above. Our college gives internship opportunities and also has good percentage of placements.

Gitam has various clubs and various opportunities for students to interact and involve socially. We have variety of fests including technical , sports and non-technical being conducted each year and our annual fest is the SHORE fest. There are various clubs which include sports , dance , music , arts, photography , event management and many other things. Students are always provided with material to study from either in online or offline form. We have a Knowledge Resource Centre in Vizag campus and it has variety of books for students pursuing various courses.

We have 2 categories for the hostel rooms : AC and non AC . I'd chosen the one with AC rooms. We r provided with a cupboard, chair , table , bed , mattress and other basic stuffs in our rooms. Food is average. One can opt for hostel during the registration process.

The admission process was quite good for gitam. I'd applied for gitam during January 2023 through the official gitam website and also applied to write the entrance test (gat). I'd written the exam in April , the results of which were announced quite fast. For my score I was eligible for 15 percent scholarship. Hence I went for it. There wasn't really any part during the admission process which I didn't like. The eligibility of the course I am pursuing (B-Tech) is to have atleast 60 percentage of marks in intermediate/12th. The application forms can be found in the GITAM website or portal and the fee was 1200 when I'd applied. I do not have any particular reservations so I am not sure about any reservation benefits. The GAT exam was 2 hours long for our batch and its difficulty level was moderate.
