Course Curriculum Overview
I choose the course electronics and communication it was pretty much interesting and I liked electronics much, there was not much focus on practical learning at that time but now I guess they have been doing the necessary developments in this field, when I was studying there was no research centres and all from the department.
Internships Opportunities
No, internships during that time it was not at all a big deal. We did not do any internships and neither we received any stipend amount.
Placement Experience
Placement at that time it was not at all good, There was no placement cell kind of thing in my college in 1998, They gave an average package of 3.5 lakhs per annum, I guess some companies like Tata, Mahindra visited and some IT companies.
College Events
There were lots of events which took place, not like state level and national level just a small programme(events) like project exhibition and management was very supportive in the extracurricular things.
Fee Structure And Facilities
For four years of engineering I paid fees of 3.4 lakhs, yes it was affordable, this included the tuition fees, college fees that’s it. The exam fees had to be paid separately before the one month of commencement of the exams.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, the scholarship was a must for all the backward class students in India, college did not provide any scholarship but there were scholarships which the government provided even the merit students had some scholarships reserved.
Hostel Facilities
I didn’t stay in the hostel since Chikmagalur was my hometown I stayed in my home, I have heard that there were 4 sharing rooms, the food what they provided was fine.
Alumni/Alumna
No alumni network and all during that time. we didn’t get an opportunity to have an interaction with the passed out students.
Faculty
Most of them were M.tech degree holders, yes the faculties were pretty much experienced and they were well qualified in teaching the courses, whenever the students contacted the faculties they were responsive in a good way. The standard of teaching of excellent.
