Likes
- I like the free wifi facility and programs that are being held in our college. And also we have AC rooms for classes and the ambience of KSHEMA campus is really good. We also have free transportation facility.
- Teaching methods and sessional exams are best for improving oru skills and group study methods are also really helpful.
- I like the posting facility that we get from first year itself. It improved my practical skill very much.
Dislikes
- Mainly hostel food is very average for the fees that we pay but still we get some good food.
- We have two classrooms one in KSHEMA campus and one in hospital. Hospital classroom facility is very poor and also we need to go and comeback for certa classes.
- Water crisis that happens during summer is really hard to adjust.
Course Curriculum Overview
I opted for this course because imaging is a developing area and we have many opportunities. We have clinical postings regularly and it is a very relevant method for improving our practical skills. We have year based exams and you can clear the exam if you study enough and the difficulty of the exam will be a 6/10 on a scale.
Internships Opportunities
We have a one year internship program which is in our own hospital K S Hegde Medical Academy. We get posted in different modalities like X Ray, CT, MRI, USG and other interventions. We even have night postings during internship. They also provide stipend for the internship.
Fees and Financial Aid
Initially when I joined the course fee for first year was 130000 and an exam fee of 5000 and it increased by 3000 for next year and exam fee is the same. Other than these I had to pay a hostel fee which was 77000 per year and a caution deposit of 20000 which they will return when I move from hostel. Then other small small fees like cultural programs, sports and conferences will also be there. For Kerala students there is no any particular scholarship but they provide NSP for Muslims and Christians and also some other scholarship for native students.
Campus Life
We have a cultural event every year which includes all the Allied Health Sciences and other concerts and programs which we can enjoy. We have a very big library including all the materials that can help for our studies. There is also annual sports meet and other games every year including football, cricket, basketball and badminton. We have free wifi and gym within the campus.
Hostel Facilities
We have a single court a shelf and a study table for each students. Quality of the meal is average not very good and not really bad. We have non-veg 2 times a week and maybe 3 times which includes chicken and egg. Registration for hostel is during your admission and fee is 77000 per year. It can increase.
Admission
Eligibility - 60% mark in PUC NITTE is a very good college for students. You can find the admission portal online or you can directly contact admission help line of NITTE college. There was no exam during my admission. Communication is the key during your admission.
