Things one should know before applying for admission.

Accounts and economics were my favourite subject at school hence I know what I wanted to pursue i.e. bcom(h) in accounts. The curriculum is prepared / designed keeping it's real world application in view.for example:- in the 6th semester we are taught tally which alone In real world can help us get a job. Also we needed to make a project which helped us learn many aspects of digital world. Viva which is held helps us build our confidence. The teaching method was up to the mark that is to say the teachers used projectors to make students learn and understand in a better way. Teachers are nothing but guardians there. They helped us and walked every step with us. Regular class tests were also being held so as to check the progress of the class. Once in every 6 months the exams are held i.e. every semester. If one pays attention and be involved in the class they won't find difficulty during exams.

The fees I think was according to the market standards only. If we compare the fees from other reputed colleges ours was reasonable i.e. 20000-24000 per semester. And the college accepts demand drafts only .

No words can describe the infrastructure of the college. It was top notch. The premises include library (one can easily issue not only academic but other genres books too from our history and culture to fiction everything),canteen( taste of the food can be known by the number of students sitting there i.e. the whole college) game room(one can go and refresh there mind) computer labs, auditorium and many more. Also the premises were always clean, thanks to the staff who worked whole heartedly. The classrooms also had proper learning environment. Modern technologies such as projector, mix,are installed. And let me also mention the classrooms had AC installed so one need not worry about the hot and humid weather of Kolkata. No words can describe how much pride the college takes in srijan(fest),fresher and farewell party. Game opportunity is also given to the students. Many clubs are available in which students can take part and be member according to their intrest.

The admission process was online which made it possible for me to sit at home and apply for the college with just few clicks. However, after the admission the students needed to go to the college with certain documents but it was also very easy as the college had a very uniformed way of managing the chaos of students and it took not more than 30 min. One can find the application form,fees and dates from the website of the college itself i.e. http:// shikshayatancollege .org . The exams were also properly managed. If one pays attention in class they will not find difficulty in exams. Our exam center was city college ( Gariahat) . Once in every 6 months the exams are held for each semester. Our exams were held during business hours. I don't think there's any need for improvement in the admission process as it was as smooth as butter.
