MY SECOND HOME (NIT RAIPUR)

I was intrested in the fields of CSE or IT from the start , so I have opted for only those two branches in all the colleges possibly. The main advantage of NITS and IITS is that they have faculty members with high knolwedge and full of experince.The course details will be clearly mentioned intially and the classes and schdeule will be maintained accrodingly. They take of the labs and all . Coming to the point of exams , in most of the IITs and NITs , usually there will be mid semester exams only once in the middle of the semester. Finally at the end of the semester, we would be having end sem exams . The practicals will be conducted for mid as well as for end sems. TA(Teacher assessment ) will be for 20 marks , mid semester marks for 30 and the remaining 50 on the scale of 100 would be for the end semester exam marks. There would be many pros because of the faculty and experience and intrcation with seniors as well as the fests and all . But the cons include the old curriculum .

The students in our college find many oppurtunities on campus as well as offcampus . Students get into many Top MNCs which come for hiring on campus . Major companies like DEShaw , Intel , Oracle , Deloite , Tcs , Cogizant , Infosys etc.. come for oncampus selection and provide oppurtunities . Many students who have done internships would recieve PPIs(pre placement interview ) or PPOs(pre placement offer) according to their performance . Students enrolled in Internships at diverse companies would recieve stipend as well . Our college provides wide range of oppurtunities for all the 3rd and 4th year students . Even if students want to enroll in offcampus companies , I can confidently say that our college has given us the education and merit to tackle any kind of questions asked the interviews anywhere . Every student will be thankful for the TCP committee for bringing top MNCs for the oncampus and giving opputunities for students.

The placaments will be taken care by the TPO group of the college for respective branches. There will be internship oppurtunities for 3rd year students and 4th year students will be eligible for placements . Students can opt for off campus internships or placaments as well . The highest package will eb secured by the studetns from the departments of Cmputer Science (CSE) as well as Information Technology (IT) in our college . The highest pacakge goes upto 50 lakhs per annum where as average package will be around 18 lakhs per annum . Stuednts might have different future plans and goals after their graduation , they might opt for higher studies like Masters or PG , they might go into the other fields like GATE exams or Groups exams etc .. that depedns on the individual . I might go abroad to pursue my higher studies there. Almost all the students can get placed . Some companies set their basic standards like basic CGPA to participate in their on campus placements.

The fees may vary from indicidual to the other based on their category and their family's annual income. If they are from General category with annual income more than 5 lakhs , in NIT RAIPUR, they would have to pay 64,000 rupees per semester. If candidate of any caste or category submit their family income certificate with income below 1 lakh rupees , they have fees weiver and should pay their hostel fees as well as other expenses respectively. If they have income from 1 lakh to 5 lakhs , they will get fees weiver of 2/3 rd of thier semester fees. Students from lower backgrounds can enrol in many scholarship programs like Foundation For Excellence (FFE) , National Scholarship Portal(NSP) and many other which have key constraints like family income below 1 lakh . Meritorious students can recieve scholarships based on merit like Reliance Foundation Scholarship and etc. Students have many opputunities around and should be careful in knowing them and their reepective last dates to apply.

At National Institute of Technology Raipur, there will be central India's largest fest ECLECTIKA happening in the month of feb or march. There are many clubs and committees in the college conducting many events and fests all round the year in the spring as well as fall welcoming new students and time for partying and exploring for 2nd , 3rd and 4th year students. The main clubs and committees at NIT Raipur include Sanskriti (cultural club of Nit Raipur), TEDx , GoGreen , Innovation Cell , PMRC , TCP( Turing Club of Programmers) , Robotics Club , ECell (Entrepreneurship Cell) and many more , where students can engage in many activities and events conducted by them . In the first year , students can work as volunteers and create groups with thier peers . Through clubs students can engage in many new realtions with other branchmates adn their batchmates and seniors as well. All round the year , there will be many events being conducted in the college and campus life is the best.

The hostel issue is a big drawback for NIT Raipur . Students who excel in their education can only be getting the hostel every year. Otherwise , students should opt for other PG hostels or rooms outside the campus in the nearby areas. There will be 1 hostel for 1st year girls and 5 hostels for 1st year boys ,there will be 1 big hostel for 2nd , 3rd , and 4th year girls and 4 hostels for 2nd , 3rd and 4th year boys . The mess food will be manageable . There will be specific menu and that will be followed by the cooks . If all students agree for amendments in the menu , then we can inform that to the mess comittee which comprises of students (mostly seniors) and the menu will be changed accordinly. The menu usually has cabbage, cauliflower and mixed veg . There will be rice as well as chapatis . The mess will opened 4 times fro morning breakfast ( 8 to 10 am) , lunch( 12 to 2 pm) , snack ( 5 to 6 pm ) and dinner ( 8 to 10 pm ).

I have joined National Institute of Technology Raipur thorugh my JEE score. The entire admission process was done with JOSA. You need to set up prefrence order of college and respective branches you wanted to get into.Intitially, there were 2 mock rounds to get a clear understanding of where and which college , which branch you would be getting. based on the result of two rounds you can change the preference order. After that , you cannot change the order and it will be locked. Then , there will be 5 rounds in which we will be assinged respective colleges , they might change from one round to another . The entire process was kinda a bit time taking . But it is worth it to get into a good college accordingly .
