Course Curriculum Overview
I think the curriculum is well done. I've always been curious about this subject and I feel like this syllabus is pretty informative. I think it really opens up something in us and it's unlike anything that we've experienced in schools before. So I'm pretty satisfied with the course curriculum. The teaching methods of the teachers who teach the core subjects are also good. But the language teachers are not good enough. You can tell that they lack skills to handle a class. Not only that, but they also don't feel like professionals when it comes to their subjects. It feels like they could be more educated about it. As this college comes under the calicut university, the exam and the results are quite irregular. And also there's a higher credit point for complementary subjects than core subjects which messes up the sgpa.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees of the college is pretty reasonable. The semester fees is around 12k. And there's exam registration fees every semester which comes around 500 rupees. And that's about it. Any other money is for extra curricular. I am right now the class representative. There are several fests conducted like arts fest, sports fest and other cultural fests. I have won in several competitions. There were also inter college fests, in our college and they also make arrangements if its conducted in another college. I think they give out scholarship to the student with the highest cgpa in a batch at the end of the course.
Campus Life
There are so many fests conducted in our college especially culturally. Usually there's something every month. Books regarding our courses are available in our library. And there are so many books. But I wish they had more of books that weren't academical. I wish they had better fictional books. Although it is there, I don't think they have a good collection. The facilities and technological provisions they give is remarkable. We have a smart TV in our classroom and we have several labs around our college. Sports and extracurricular activities are given so much importance. Its just a matter of who wants to join what. There are many clubs like women's cell club, debate club, drama club etc and social groups. Although there are clubs, I feel like the club activities are confined to their own. I feel like their activities should be presented throughout the college so that it attracts more people to join the clubs and be engaged in extracurricular activities.
Admission
The admission process was pretty simple. The college was recommended to me by my cousin and a mutual friend who studied there and I came to know that it's a pretty good option for psychology. And I went there after calling them and they guided us through the college. The College's greenery really caught my eye. There was an 85 percent cut off so I had to join with management fees. The application form, fees and all were all done in the office and there was someone to guide us through it. I personally didn't feel like there was something that I didn't like about the admission process. As our college isn't autonomous, the exams are quite irregular sometimes. It comes under the university of calicut so sometimes it can be out of nowhere. And the marks are also not given fairly. I don't like the fact that there is a higher credit point for complementary subjects than the core subjects so it messes with the sgpa.
