Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum was well prepared and each semester was given , field visits with each setting like children, community etc. As the course provides a good exposure to the community and different settings for field the trainees can gain a good exposure to the real world. Overall the course is not much difficult anyone with a good experience in the field and a basic knowledge on theory can score good marks. The course mainly focus on practical skills rather than focusing on theories
Internships Opportunities
The course provides field on every semester , to empower children to develop practical knowledge. Placements are less in the college but the students usually gets job offers from the agencies they does field , if they find the students are excellent.
Fees and Financial Aid
This is the only college I found to have only 75000 ( Seventy five thousand ) as total course fees in the self finance field. Usually other colleges either in Bangalore, Manglore or Kerala charges from 1.5 lakhs to above. The course only have less fees as tuition fees . The first year fees is 50000 and the second year comes Rs 25000. Students can also apply foe different scholarship schemes available.
Campus Life
The only drawback regarding MSW course in Yenepoya is that the course does not have a strong base in the university. The course is conducted in Yenepoya School of Allied Health Sciences (YSAHS) , which is not really the area for MSW course. The course belongs to the degree college but is placed in YSAHS only . So the students can't participate in the college programmers neither by YSAHS or by Yenepoya Degree College. That is the only problem faced by college , which was caused as a result of changing the classes from Yenepoya University to Yenepoya Allied Science college. But from this year the department is planning to conduct Cultural events and all as the request from students. So from next year on , it will be a good atmosphere for the students. Enought time is given for library activities and all. Much sports activities are not seen from the department as there is only less number of students on the class (20 seats only). Student run programmes are also conducted in the college.
Admission
I chose to be a social worker, so I selected MSW course. MSW course can be selected by any students of any stream. The only eligibility is that, they should be degree qualified. The ones who choose BSW as their bachelor's degree will find it more easy for MSW course. The application form can be find out in the college website itself. And a special portal will be available for admission related details. Semester eams are conducted every 5th month or by half yearly and 2 internal exams are also done within this time span. The exams are not difficult as they have scheduled the course structure accordingly. Firstly a brief introduction of the chapters in the first semester and then only they will get into the deeper views of the course. At the time of my admission the classes started only by 2023 October, but now they have fastened the admission and scheduled the classes to August/ September itself
