Entrance Preview

I wrote manipal university online entrance exam. I was already qualified for gate. It gave an added advantage. I got 145th rank. I was from electronics and communication engineering background. Manipal is an excellent institute that give good career options.

Course Curriculum Overview

Total four semester. Last two semesters are exclusively for project. Classes started by august. Elective subjects are many related to vlsi, embedded or communication.

Internships Opportunities

Lot more companies are coming for internships. Broadcom, philips, st-microelectroncs, semens, honeywell, ibm, intel, infenion, microchip, nxp semiconductors etcminimum stipend amount will be 20000 per month. Companies like broadcom are offering 35000 per month. Internship period around 1 year.

Placement Experience

Placements are less. Enough software companies are coming for placements. Core companies are very less. But most of them are getting converted after their internship period. Conversion rate is almost 95% with very good salary, an average of 8 lac per annum.

College Events

More technical and cultural events are going on there. If any one want to participate, directly contact with the committee related to the programme.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is comparatively cheap. It is around 1lakh per year. It includes tuition fee, exam fee and other administration fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

For GATE qualified candidates, they will provide gate scholarship. For the first year we can work as teaching assistant. It will be a good earning. Loans from the bank can take directly from the college.

Exam Structure

From the beginning of first day, we will get entire timetable. About the full semester, assignments, exam date etc. total 2 internal and 1 main exam.

A mini heaven on earth called NITK

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Mtech Thermal Engineering because I was interested in thermal subjects like Fluid mechanics, Heat transfer, CFD. The Curriculum is pretty decent and it does covers the fundamentals and advanced topics of the particular subject but it could be better in terms of imparting practical and industrial knowledge. The exams that are held in NITK are competitive and requires a good understanding of the subject. You simply cannot cram and get good marks in exam. You have to know the proper implementation of that particular formula or theory.

Placement Experience:

After joining the course with 3 months of starting of the course the placements will be startedforthe students to apply for the placements. Tier-1MNCs companies are visiting for the college which are proving high package . The highest package got is 94LPA and average package is 10LPA. 95% of students got the placements.

Campus placement conditions have improved in IISc after the inception of campus placement cell. Average package is around I would say 25 lpa. MIT Manipal owns engineering!

Admission here are very consistent and just two methods. No other method works here as MIT Manipal has very clear plans. Either you can qualify through Manipal Entrance Test or JEE scores but 90 percentile is required. For B.Tech courses, Manipal Entrance Test is conducted by the college and students on the score and ranking are alloted branch. CSE and AI are taken by top rankers and then mid rankers can take our branch. However, first choice is always with the students. MIT Manipal is super tech savvy!

In MAHE or MIT Manipal the university only accepts their own entrance scored as JEE qualifications and all have very limited seats.
