Course Curriculum Overview
I have always wanted to take up English Major. Also, I didn't want to move states. And it's one of the finest colleges here in Odisha. It has the best faculty members. They introduce you to works of several poets and authors globally. Once you know them and go through some prominent work you're tempted to explore more. The more you read, the better you speak and write. It enhances the content.
Fees and Financial Aid
Because it is an Odisha government college, it's affordable in here. I paid around 2000-2500 INR during admission. And some 1000 during filling in the application form. I haven't paid a single rupee more yet. There are several scholarships children have been applying for. Though I'm not sure about the amounts, I do remember a few names like Prerana. Also, there was this NUA-O scholarship where eligible girls received 10,000 INR per annum and eligible boys 9000 INR. The admission fees and application charges are less for the reserved categories, physically challenged and girl children.
Campus Life
Because I just got done with my first semester, I am not fully aware of all the events yet. There are several departmental celebrations and seminars going on. The library space where you can issue books from on your allotted dates based on your stream, is separate from the Reading Room with air conditioning. The library offers vivid options to readers and a silent corner to read.
Admission
Application form can be filled online on SAMS portal. A certain cut-off percentage is finalized for General Category and for OBC/SC/ST/PWD etc. below the mentioned percentage students are not admitted. You have to fill in the application form and report in your college on the alloted date within the allotted time.
