Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I'm pursuing B.Com Hons in Accounting and Finance. Here the course structure is very well set up so that students are well trained for their future careers. For example we have different subject in each semester, like we had Information Technology in semester 3 which was inclusive of many IT Projects that is extremely relevant for getting jobs specially in the corporate sector. The course is structured so that we can learn about many different sectors of Accounting like Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting, Audit, Tax etc. The course provides us with all inclusive know about the Accounting world. All inclusive knowledge is very important for high paying jobs. So I want to conclude that if any student is diligently studying according to the College and University course structure, then don't worry they got you covered.

Placement Experience

4

First of all our campus placements are quite good. Alot of big companies do visit our college for placements, like for a B.Com Hons graduate who's a fresher they get Rs. 200000 per annum( highest received). And if one does not feel like going with the college placements, there will be plenty of jobs waiting for you if you have done your course diligently. Apart from college one should also go and learn Tally and Excel , it will be very helpful for getting jobs.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure for B.Com Hons: The college fee structure more or less remains constant at a rate of Rs.50000 per year so each semester it will come around Rs.25000. Yes there is a provision for FREESHIP , for which you have to apply online after contacting the college office. But many applicants are there so not many are chosen. But one can definitely apply for it. And about scholarships the WB Govt. gives Kanyashree and Swami Vivekananda Scholarships, so you can definitely go and chcek that out as well. Yes there are many internship opportunities that will be coming your way in college groups. And talking about Shri Shikshayatan Placement Cell, yes a lot of reputed companies do reach us , you have to give interviews for selection . The highest package after graduation in B.Com Hons. has been Rs. 200000 per anum.

Campus Life

4

Yes we do have our college gym room, yoga room, canteen and a basketball court too. So quite good for all the students out there. We do have our own computer labs, very well set up, and science laboratory too. And best thing is our library you which is open almost everyday except Sundays , you can have you own peaceful time reading there. Also you can issue books for your course so that you don't have to buy new books.

Admission

1. A minimum of 60% aggregate is required. There's no separate entrance exam for B.Com Hons admission. 2. Please go through the college website regularly because all the forms and notices will be uploaded there. 3. All the checklist and important dates will be uploaded on the website. 4. Cut offs can go upto 70% , but don't get disappointed if you have scored below that , as there's always chance of getting in but you have to wait till the final lists get uploaded.

Other Applied Colleges

Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration | Bachelor of Commerce [B.Com] {Hons.}

Shri Shikshayatan College has always been my first preference since it is one of reputed colleges in Kolkata. So I didn't opt for any other college.

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose the course the b.com because I want to become the CA but after completing the graduation my family condition was not very good so I quit my studies and searching for the job. My dream was after B.com then I complete M.com then CA but I couldn't do that. I'm pursuing because I'm interested in understanding how businesses work and want a solid foundation in commerce and finance. It opens up various career paths in accounting, finance, management, and more. Plus, it's a versatile degree that can lead to professional certifications like CA, CS, or MBA.
