Microbiology is a blooming subject although it would be fair to say that you would get a better job if you pursue your profession career abroad (UK USA)but with the upcoming of various biotechnological startups the demand of microbiologists is increasing at a farely high rate.You can pursue your career in the food industry and quality check industry with very high paying jobs Microbiology is a practical based subject and during your 4 year course you'll be taught the several methods of culturing bacteria ,viral assay and so many more real life technique So basically the 4 year degree is bsc microbiology consists of 8 semester .Each semester is of 6 months each until and unless some very genuine problem arises.Though the difficulty of the university exams is not that high but the checking is very strict.you must be thorough with your syllabus and be in touch with the subject and the syllabus .if you're consistent you will score good

Intership opportunity woulf be unveiled from this session as per the new education policy but it hasn't been started yet.but the department organises international seminars and other competition's like poster making and oral presentation competition which helps to brush up our communication and leadership skills

The cost of this course is fairly high it is even high in government colleges too.Thus it is a bit of an expense to study microbiology.For the first semester the initial fees along with admission fees is 40,000 INR.and the fees for the following semesters is nearly 20000-30000 maybe even less. The over-all for year cost may be around 4-5 lakhs including fees tution and other extra curriculars. Financial aid is available for students whose family income is less than 8 lakhs and other scholarship for bright students are also available

If you're looking for a very fun college life like a college with a lot of fests then Scottish is not the place to go.the college had a huge annual fest named Caledonia which has been put to hault for no reason.we look up to restarting the fest soon but don't know when it will happen The college has a huge library with a vast collection of books and antique books too.Every department has their own departmental library to issue books needed for the academics All the classrooms are technologically advanced with projectors and other necessary equipment There are many clubs like drama club literary society etc.and our college too has a NSS which is a integral part of college student body

For getting admission in Scottish church College, Kolkata you have to have a minimum of 85 percent marks in your best of 5 subjects. If you want to pursue a bsc degree in microbiology then this college is one of the best for doing so.The form filling procedure usually starts during the months of June and July varing with the date of publication of the WBCHSE .For getting a admission in this the marks of 4 subjects English, BIOLOGY, chemistry and physics is considered. Since our college is a Christian minority college thus it has reserved seats for christians (catholic and protestants both)along with reservation for SC ST and OBC Admission is based upon the marks secured in your boards exams NOTE:After the publication of merit lists the initial cutoffs are way to high but don't worry there are atleast 30 admission lists put out.If you have a decent score in your boards (86 percent for general)you have a fairly high chance to get in Thank you
