Course Curriculum Overview
I have interest in geography from school. So I took it in my higher education. It also have various scope in future. Students get various knowledge of earth from this course. We also get field work from here. College organizes excursion for the students were the students go and do survey house to house gathering lot of information. We also get chances to apply for UPSC in future where geography plays a important role in preparation of the students.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tuition is minimal in our college. For the first year fees they already take it during admission. And only during the CU semester exam they take just ?465 . And from 3rd sem we have to again pay the college fee which is very minimal ?3000-4000 for a year and the exam fees is less than ?500 for per semester. We have a computer classes which is regarded as a basic compulsory course . The computer classes is held online 2 days in a week according to the time slot chosen by us . The time slots were offered by the college itself. There are various scholarship schemes available to the students like Kannashree, Swami Vivekananda scholarship etc.
Campus Life
Asutosh College, department of geography helds innumerable seminar by various geographers, alumnis for the students. The students present there gets various knowledge, information from them. Question answer session is also held at the semina. students can question on the topic discuss and gets an idea about it. Asutosh college organizes various sports like every year annual sports day takes place, APL (Asutosh Premier League), ASL take place where students good at any sport can participate and show their extra talents. There is a big library in our college with thousands of books kept in the racks. Students can borrow from there, learn different topics ,Sit there and study . There are librarians to help them out if they need so.
Admission
I am currently pursuing BA geography honors in Asutosh College under Calcutta University. You can find the application form in the college website itself. There is no application fees required for formfillup. It is a very good college in Kolkata.
