Fees and Financial Aid
Asutosh College is a pioneer institute of education in West Bengal and was established in 1916. It is the first college in the state which was accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ grade. The college offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Diploma courses in the streams of Arts, Science, and Commerce. Admission to the UG courses is based on merits and admission to the PG programs is based on entrance exam scores. The application process for admission is online with application fee of INR 500/ 200.
Campus Life
Asutosh College in Kolkata has a well-equipped gym, a central library, and several libraries for different streams of study. The central library is located in the Main Building, and has two additional buildings with reading rooms and one building with both lending and reading facilities. The college also has dedicated seminar libraries for each department, with both lending and reading room facilities. The college has more than 90,000 books in its central library. The college also has two hostels for boys and girls, located at Vasa. Seats are allotted transparently on a strict merit-cum-distance basis. Some say the hostels are good enough to survive the college years, but there are no extra facilities.
Admission
Asutosh College which is situated in Hazra, near Jatin Das Park metro station is one of the most renowned college in Kolkata. The college provides various faculties and courses. I took B.A.(Hons) in Political Science, apart from that many others courses are also offered. The details of all the courses can be seen from the official website of Asutosh College. Overall the college is pretty good with academic excellence. From my point of view only thing that the college need to improve the frequency of classes and time management.
