Course Curriculum Overview
Department of Geography, Jadavpur University is one of the rarest University that offers BSc degree having compulsion in Mathematics. It also have a syllabus that is completely different from other colleges offering the same course. It is more based on application and partical applications and not just theoretical. The course is filled with field work and fun.
Placement Experience
The university has the highest placement offered in the country. The university offered placements to high profile companies and also high paying jobs. The university has a record of 70% placement. My plan is to get chance in IIRS after completing MSc from Jadavpur University.
Fees and Financial Aid
More importantly, the course fee is negligible. Its approximately 1900 per year. And for every semester examination, you have to pay approx 150 per semester. There are also facilities for applying half or full freeship in course if the income criteria is fulfilled. Students can also apply for any scholarships from the university.
Campus Life
The campus life is beyond describing. And the month of Match is called the JU Festive season became it contains a series of fests, cultural programmes, etc. The classroom contains AV amenities and all other amenities needed for proper study. There is a Central Library where all ranges of books can be found and every department have their separate library for the course books. The campus supports sports and other extracurricular. There are political groups actively running in the campus but everyone is very friendly and cheerful.
Admission
For admission, you have score a minimum of 75% in 12th boards including Mathematics. And after this, there is a MCQ entrance examination. After that, the merit list will feature having 50% weightage of boards and 50% weightage on entrance exams. After that, conselling session takes place. There are also few seats reserved for backward categories. Exams are held in afternoon to evening and difficulty level is medium to hard. The only limitation is everyone applying has to come to JU for giving the entrance.
