Course Curriculum Overview
Firstly I wanted to choose CS or IT then I got ECE, therefore, I am not satisfied with my branch, although the course syllabus is good and up to date with the new Technologies, the faculties are the worst they continuously pressurizing you to study only core subjects and read ECE only give lots of assignments and even no freedom to study open electives apart from the core branch if you are coder and interest in IT companies then don't think you will to get time to do Codeforces and DSA, in NIT Raipur there is a lot of discrimination between ECE and other branches, other branches have chill faculties and no strictness to study core only. exam pattern follows the CBCS scheme and about frequency, in one semester we have two main exams mid-sem and end sem, and only 15 day gap between mid and end-sem, I think that needs to be at least 30 day gap. but it all depends upon the HOD in my department, HOD rules dictatorship because at once they conduct two exams in a day.
Internships Opportunities
There are no or limited internship opportunities for non-IT, CSE students but if you have endless enthusiasm then you will be able to get an off-campus internship opportunity I have a small off-campus internship in a startup called Heart It Out at the role of React Native developer
Placement Experience
If you belong to CSE and IT then you will get about 15lpa CTC and there is a high chance to get into top companies like Google, and Microsoft if you are from ECE or EE, then you will get a placement of average package 10laks, in NIT Raipur almost 70% of eligible candidates get placement for sure regardless your branch, with average 7laks CTC. and also core companies are recruiting through on-campus in NIT Raipur.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is affordable because NIT is a government college, so if you fall into the below 1lakh or below 5lakh category you will get a fee compensation, about my fee structure belongs to the OBC category with a below 1lakh income certificate so I need to pay 12000/- in the first year and 9000/- per year in remaining 3 year, but it's different for the other income slab you can check NIT official site for more information. Regarding finance assistance, there is an SBI branch on the NIT Raipur campus from where you can take loans up to 7lakhs, and if you have good results in your 12th and 10th you can get different scholarships like FFE and ONGC scholarships too. from where you can get financial support of around 50k per year.
Campus Life
NIT Raipur campus life is full of fun and a lot of other activities, there are different clubs like the cultural club - Sanskriti, Coding Club - TCP, Technical club - Technocracy, Dance club - Nrityam, Singing club - Raaga, and apart from these there are lots of clubs too. I am a coding guy and I most like TCP's annual Hackathon called CODEUTSAVA where I become a Winner and get lots of experience in coding and development in new technology like AI and ML, I made a lot of networks through these clubs and also I have worked as from volunteer to Head in TCP design domain. I made around 900+ connections on Linkedin through these clubs.
Hostel Facilities
There is a limited hostel facility at NIT Raipur only 20% of the students will be accommodated in the campus hostel, Regarding the hostel food the breakfast is quite good but lunch and dinner are very bad always repeated meals are given. Eligibility for a hostel is based on CPI and PG charges are approx 6000/- per months.
Admission
I was given JEE mains in my drop year then I scored 95% percentile, The admission process is going with JOSSA counseling according to my AIR 43308 and my OBC rank 10960, and through state Quota, I got ECE in the first round of counseling then it continues in remaining 6 rounds of counseling, according to me competition for top 4 branches like CSE, IT, ECE, and EE is the most because, till last round of JOSSA counseling and even in a special round of counseling, I am unable to get a higher branch. Jee mains form fees are nominal 1000/- and for JOSSA counseling there is no fee required to appear in the counseling process but if you get a seat in any college then to take the seat JOSSA charges 2000/- with the admission fee of the college. To take a seat in NIT Raipur you need to pay a seat acceptance fee of 35000/- after the counseling ends to confirm the seat you have to pay 40000/- more and if you belong from a low-income family you will get a refund you 60000/-
