- Academics, very tough, not doable, first year is very tough
- The gender ratio, it's 4 boys per girl, which is not good
- Competition, still after Jee, there is a lot of computing, for grades
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is tough, but it's not undoable, and the faculty members are really nice so I don't think it'll be tough to pass the courses, the course does not prepare you for real world at all. The exams are tough. There are 2 semesters per year and exams are based on the semesters. Course Curriculum is up to date.
Internships Opportunities
I've not personally rolled in any internship because I'm in first year, but I've heard from seniors that most people go into consultancy firms, like mckinsey, Accenture, bain, and very less number of people go into core companies.
Placement Experience
From 5th semester which is 3rd year, people become eligible for placements, many people in 3rd year get pre placement offers, and by 4th year they get placed, they say the placement percentage is 100% but it's not quite true, I'd say it's more like 80%
Fees and Financial Aid
Since I am a reserved student, the tuition fee is 0, but still there is hostel and mess fee, which is around 50k per semester. The college do provide scholarship service and financial aid for those who have their parental income less than 9lakh.
Campus Life
The infrastructure is fabulous, I mean, it's iitd after all, you cannot expect anything less, it's beautiful with all the greenary and the main building is just a bliss to look at, there's every kind of sports facility that you can imagine, be it swimming, hockey, squash, table tennis, chess, etc, and there are a lot of clubs for eg, music, dance, literary, debate etc
Hostel Facilities
The hostel room facility are moderate, not too good, we have to share 3 people in a room, but water and electricity is fine, no problems there, the mess food is really really good, I did not believe it when I first ate there
Admission
My AIR was 16000, I got a seat by reservation, I got mechanical engineering branch which is quite good in iit Delhi. the admission process was smooth because obviously it's an iit, the entrance exam is JEE ADVANCED, it's not that difficult but at the same time it is difficult, but being a reserved candidate I was sure that I can get into an iit, the, the difficulty level lean towards difficult side, but with true dedication and efforts I think it's not that tough to crack iit jee, the results announcement is a little late, that's one area they can improve in.
