Likes
- Most of the labs are good, and we are given good assistance for the lab faculty.
- The Library is decent, and the book lending scheme of the college is good.
Dislikes
- The campus life is here is a bit like School, we get restricted to do basic things normal enginerring students would do.
- The break timing is too less, we have 3 continuous hours of classes before we 40 min of Lunch break which is too hectic.
- The Internal examination system is a bit to compressed, we write 2 subject exams on a single day, and the average of 2 internals are considered.
Course Curriculum Overview
The Course curriculum is a bit hectic. There is a lab almost everyday in my 1st Semister, we are asked to write the record and submit it on the very next week of doint the experiments. Normally other Engineering colleges dont have 6-7 subjects in 1st Semister but here at Vasavi we have 7 Subject (6 Credit Subject + 1 Non Credit) for the 1st Semister itself. The faculty are i would say Good but the curriculum is a bit hectic.
Internships Opportunities
The internship opportunites at Vasavi are good, the faculty encourages the students to apply and provide neccessary information regarding an internship. It could have been done better but it is decent enough.
Placement Experience
The placements offered at Vasavi are better than most other Enginerring colleges. The average package is around 9LPA. But the students of this academic year i.e the once's graduating 2023-24 are not yet fully placed so far.
Fees and Financial Aid
College Fee is said to be Rs.1,40,000/yr and the other Rs.11,000.yr is extra for affliations for NAAC, NBA etc. Every Semister we are asked to pay around Rs.2500-3500/yr for the Semister Examinations and Infrastructre fee. The students who have a rank below 10,000 in TS EAMCET have a fee reimburesment as in every EAMCET College in Telangana state, also there are a few other scholarship that are applicable.
Campus Life
The campus size is not very large but also the no.of students admitted are also lesser than other colleges in Hyderabad. The campus life is not so great, the ground is not big enough to play sports. The clubs would we in 3rd and 5th semister, also the Infrastructure i would say is decent not anything extraordinary.
Admission
There are 2 options to get into Vasavi. The first option was through TS EAMCET (Category A) and the other was through JEE Mains (Category B). My TS EAMCET Rank wasn't in the cut-off to apply for Vasavi. So i opted going through JEE Mains. I paid a fee off Rs.2000 for applying Category B admission. After around 10 days, the result was posted as to who got selected in those allotted seats. I wasnt selected initially, then after around another 7-10 days, the spot admission round was conducted. I got my admission through that phase. My JEE Score was 93%, I was among the last 5 students to be admitted in Information Technology course at Vasavi through Category B. One thing i didnt like about this process was that it was at the end of EAMCET Counselling, it was a tensed wait for me till i got the B Category Notification.
