An Honest review by depressed RGUKTIAN

I think the curriculum is one the very good reason to join this university as you can learn basics of IT in inter itself (here it's called PUC - Pre University Course) you will learn things like basics of html , css amd javascript and python and latex along with regular subjects of intermediate which gives you edge over regular intermediate students . As there is semester model from inter itself you will easily adapt to that system in B-TECH which is better for your academics. The choice of branch in the Engineering will depend on the marks you scored the PUC.

With little knowledge i know about internships offered in our college some companies offer good internship oppurtunities to studnets . some offering comanies are TCS, WIPRO etc..., with the internship studnets gain enough knowledge before doing the actual job.

I think placements will happen but not something like big companies will come , just like any other tier-3 college placments will happen with average package 3.5 lakh . CSE and ECE students will get some decent offers around 60- 70 % students will get placed every year. Highest package if i remember correctly is 27 lakh per annum last year got by an ECE student. The placements will start from second semester of 3 rd year .

The biggest benifit of joining RGUKT is you can compplete whole intermediate in 0/- rupees if you are below BPL. Generally the fee for PUC is 45,000/- per annum , but if you white ration card you will get the complete fee in cyour account under the scheme of Jagananna Vidya Devena(JVD). Same for Engineering as well , Normally the fee is 50,000/- per annum but if you white ration card you will get whole fee amount in your bank account , so ideally you will complete whole 6 year Integrated B-tech programme in 0/- rupees. Even if you have no ration card the fee is very low considering astounshing fee for colleges outside.

I think this is one the biggest setback where RGUKT stays miles behind other colleges. Here the annual and tecchnical fests are very rare to be precisely only one technical and one cultural fest in whole year. To my suprise even that cultural fests hasn't took place even once in my 4 years after joining this college. Social life is too depressing here because very rare engagment with students happen in this college , not fully blaming the managment because the strength is too high around 7000 students in college , but the managment to take the necessary steps to make the studnets more engaged in Social activities. Coming to library , very large central libraray available in college for someone who can use this resourses this is a golden oppurtunity. 2-3 studnets clubs are there SDCAC , STUDENT MITRA,E-CRUSH for conducting events for students i college.

Hostel is the worst thing that you can witness in this college no proper facilities in hostel , no hygenic bathrooms , no cleaniliness. There are common bathrooms for whole floor of rooms , even in that only few will be in usable condition. some are not cleaned , some don't have doors some dont have hooks and may more problems like that. Coming to Food, the less we talk about it the better it is , Mess food is below average you can't even sometimes , My own experience is many times i have slept on empty stomach for that food. even you cant get good food if you price ,Food Court is worst that can be available in college. You can't just go out and get some food in outside hotels as you are not allowed for that what are they even thinking , to bear with that under-cooked chapatis , over-cooked rice , tasteless curries. If you can't bear with bad food just please dont join this college.

Generally the admission takes place based on the marks/CGPA scored in tenth board exams , but due to covid in 2020 and non-occurence of tenth board exams for out batch (2019-2020) admission into the college takes place by the a RGUKT Common Entrance Exam(RGUKT-CET) which consists of 100 marks. A rank is given to everyone based on marks scored in exam and counselling happened based on that rank and regular reservation rules are applied. This CET exam happened only for two years (ours and next year ) , and again the admission process shifted to old process of based on tenth marks . Coming to the difficulty of CET , for students who studied good in tenth it is very easy . And my suggestion in admission process is it's better to take students based on CET not tenth marks as there is room for copying in tenth exams , only CET exam can bring the deserved students to deserved college.
