Course Curriculum Overview
The course is how it is supposed to be. We have the relevant commerce subjects. The college emphasizes a lot on practical learning which is the reason we are supposed to get Academic, Non Academic as well as Social credits to pass our college. We also have to do atleast 6 weeks of internship compulsorily. Apart from that we have proper, non political elections in our college for electing the College General Secretary and Assistant General Secretary and everyone irrespective of their Gender, Caste or Colour are given equal opportunities to be represented fairly.
Internships Opportunities
Yes. My experience was goid and I git to learn a lot. My Stipend was Rs 5000+incentives per month. Also the college placement cell provided lots of internship opportunities in various fields that we could select from as per our choice.
Placement Experience
We had the best Firms in India come to our college for Placements like Ernst and Young, Deloitte US India, KPMG, etc. Their packages were around 3lakhs p.a. Atleast 10% of students who have applied get selected in each campus drive.
College Events
We have the best college fests in Kolkata. Xavotsav being the most popular with a footfall crossing thousands. We have other fests and events all round the year like Goonj beimg a cultural fest, Beyond Barriers being a fest by Alumni members of the college, Insignia International event etc. Students from all over the world participate in our College events. All the authorities qnd students work hard to make the fests and events successful.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure of Morning B.Com Section and Evening B.Com Section varies. The 3rd year college fees amounts to Rs 68000 pa currently.
Fees and Financial Aid
I did not avail any scholarship or loan. I dont know if the college provides any loans but our college does provide scholarships.
Hostel Facilities
I am not really sure about the cost part but the hostels were separate for boys and girls and they have to share the rooms because the demand for hostel rooms are very high since we have the majority of students from outside Kolkata.
Alumni/Alumna
Our college provides opportunities for student - alumni interactions in various debates and events.
Faculty
The teachers are well educated and well experienced in their respective fields. Some teachers have renouned books of their own published also which are also used by other colleges to teach their students. They put their best efforts and use different methods like PowerPoint presentations etc to teach.
