Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is great for industry standards and keeps you well updated with the market requirements via various projects so you really know what to expect later on in the journey. They also need you to solve a certain amount of DSA questions from various portals which also means that you're constantly involved in upskilling yourself. Moreover the only thing I would say they should improve is the fact that we can't really talk to students like normally you would in college so the students pursuing this full time are at a disadvantage of losing their communication skills. On top of that though there are no other bad cherries to pick here, even the exams are well procured even though sometimes the centres are too far away.
Internships Opportunities
Some opportunities presented to students include Dana analyst at new start ups like goemerald. Usually you need to help the brand make sense of whatever data they gather via various researches. You also get emails from the industry interaction cell for whatever opportunity might be available.
Placement Experience
This degree's first batch hasn't graduated yet so I can't give you a figure right now but I can tell you that the internship stipends are usually around 50k to 60k on average. Companies like Google and wipro are some of the places where internship offers have been made. I want to work on some of my own projects after getting the degree so yes, it is really nice. To add to all this the main part is that these students share the same opportunities as the btech students at IIT Madras.
Fees and Financial Aid
See this course is very affordable if you're willing to go through it, around 3 lakhs will get you a proper degree from the dean of the institute itself in a ceremony. Moreover you can avail discounts based on various criteria, so that is a good thing. While it might be tough for me to pinpoint how much it might cost you I can give you a ball park figure of anywhere between 16k to 320k depending upon which level you'd like to drop the courses at.
Campus Life
The fests here are margazhi and paradox , you don't exactly live on the campus so I can't really describe the campus life but yes you do get certain ways to interact with other students that give you a great chance at socialising with each other. You can also talk to students who are with you at the same exam center and make new friends randomly so that would be a plus point.
Admission
I feel like this is a great initiative from a premiere institute like IIT Madras, since the quality of the content being delivered is on par with industry standards and gives you various means to get into different paths. While you can pursue this degree full time, you can also pursue it along with any other offline programme. They also provide student interactions in various ways so that box is also checked. Overall the programme for me is a 8/10
